  1. I watched an episode of Most Dangerous Game on Prime because Christoph Waltz was in it. Basically an organization recruited a deep-in-debt guy who had terminal cancer to participate in a human hunt throughout the confines of Detroit so that he could leave money to his family. Some of the acting was atrocious, lots of leaps in logic and plot holes, but I didn't think my time was wasted and I will watch other episodes as they become available.
  2. Please do because I love these kind of fun facts.
  3. I had seen that. He does some really nice videos on refurbishing guitars!
  4. Raquetball was always a sport of a certain income. Low income folks couldn't afford memberships to the gyms/facilities that had the courts. Pickleball equipment is incredibly affordable and courts are popping up everywhere. No membership required because it can be played just about anywhere. So I took the long way to say that I think you're wrong on this issue. Let's bookmark this and revisit in ten years 😄
  5. I used to play raquetball and it was my hamstrings' nightmare. I have wanted to take up pickleball because it looks fun and all ages can participate. I started back to sand volleyball last week for the first time in years. I play twice a week indoors from September to May every year but sand is a whole different animal. We played last night and I am reminded of my age/physical condition this morning.
  6. I wanted to watch this game as I liked the story of the Nuggets. I did catch game four and loved how they dominated. I'm happy for them and their fans.
  7. I kinda figured it was that way. Still, Golden Girls is one of the all time great shows and I am hesitant to revisit it and be disappointed. It's pure gold in my memories and I want it to remain that way.
  8. For Rob: screenshot from one of my security cams. My neighbor doesn’t have lawn irrigation.
  9. Fun fact: this is the song playing in the elevator when the Blues Brothers arrive downtown to pay the tax bill for the penguin.
  10. So here's a question: Is Die Hard a Christmas movie?
  11. Unless it's Grumpy Cats Worst Christmas Ever movie, I'm out.
  12. Sorry not sorry. This site has been free since it's inception in 1999. The Ads are part of the user experience and a minor inconvenience to help us all enjoy interacting with the site. Its definitely way less intrusive than what occurs on youtube etc.
  13. While waiting in line for a Disney ride, my kids and I started counting "lap belts" and I can confirm that they are still widely used at amusement parks. I had one back in the day and loved the convenience but bowed to peer pressure and it went the way of my mullet. That said, no amount of mocking will ever make me stop wearing cargo shorts and bending the brim on my ball caps. Eat it junior.
  14. Yeah but Rat spent forty dollars on film there and never even talked to the girl. He doesn't even own a camera.
  15. It's early but I think that's the best thing I'll see all day!
  16. I didn't know whether to put this in the music thread or here but it made me smile so I'm putting it here. On the old board, someone shared this video of Mike Masse. My kids and I became instant fans, have watched many of his youtube videos and even bought his cd. Saturday night, Mike was booked to play a small club in Holland and we were attendance. He did not disappoint. He performed covers of "Time Stand Still" and "Silent Lucidity", amongst many others, as if he had written them. So why does this bring a smile to my face other than the obvious? He shared how he had been playing gigs at this little pizza joint for 25 years before getting the bright idea to record the performances and then post them on the youtubes. Up until then he had been a public defender and, with the popularity of his channel, was able to perform music full time. "The world could use one less lawyer" quote from Mike got a lot of laughs from the appreciative crowd of around 150 people. So here we are: revisiting this incredibly talented singer and guitarist doing what he loves as a side gig which became a very lucrative career change. God bless him.
  17. Oh glorious China. It’s like she is Xi (or Xi is she if you prefer). Either way, glorious chairman visits early and often.
  18. With the knowledge that Kiss deserves so much of the criticism that they get for being grown men in clown make up at an advanced age (amongst other things), they started out as a really good progressive-style rock band who used the makeup to garner attention. This shows that, in their young and hungry days, they could pound out a great rock tune. Posted to start at the song 100,000 Years.
  19. Sure! When the covid discussion gets going, you can discuss how the locked up people screaming from their windows didn't really happen and, when the covid discussion ends, you can move on to how the guy who stood up to the tank in Tiananmen Square was bought and paid for by the American Government.
  20. My wife, who was fully indoctrinated in the Chinese brainwashing and watches the Chinese version of TikTok daily, insists that Covid is a creation of the American government that was released in China as a biological weapon.
  21. Tina didn't beat Ike to death.
