  1. The northern lights from my backyard.
  2. Sue. Peer. E. Or. Say it. SAY IT!!!!!
  3. Funny thing about CAGED: the concept always confused me but when I finally learned it, I found out that knew it all along but didn’t know there was a name for it. It was just a thing I knew but didn’t see the bigger picture. It really opened up understanding triads which is the door that got kicked down this year. Triads are monsters! Delay, reverb, a little dirt and triads? Gold!
  4. And if it’s a major scale, move down three frets and it works there. Am? Start that pentatonic on the 5th and 17thfret. A major? 2nd and 14th fret.
  5. There are two levels of squires. Avoid Affinity if you can. Also scour Facebook marketplace and Craigslist for people who had big ideas and then gave up for any number of reasons. No need to buy new but also do your homework.
  6. Listening to the Tigers radio broadcast the last two days, there have been ads for Superior Asphalt which are apparently voiced by the owners daughter. You’d think she’d take the time fully anúnciate the word “Superior” but just rushed it down to “Super Asphalt”.
  7. I love that. I thought he really died when his character died on good times. Then there he was a fast food restaurant owner hiring that sweet kid Akeem.
  8. Did you decide on a guitar? I’m happy to help in any way if you have questions. Everyone who mentioned lessons is right. I did lessons at first and then when I came to a certain point I started being self taught. This was good and bad as I didn’t learn a lot of the “why’s” until much much later. In fact this last year, after playing for 45 years, a pursuit of some “why’s” really kicked down a door for me. Guitar learning never stops; even for us geezers.
  9. Would you change your mind if it was shown that they were providing communication capabilities for the country’s enemy?
  10. You must be fun at parties boss.
  11. *bzzzzzt*. Ahhhhh! Durka! Durka! Durka!
  12. Yay!!!!! Congratulations to both of you.
  13. And FTR, I’ve been called boss several times by random people in various walks of life and never took it any other way than a substitute for “dude” or “bro” etc. It’s really a big nothing burger IMO.
  14. A guy I know who runs a couple barbershop hates to be called “Chief”. I let all of his employees know this. They now use it all the time.
  15. Saw Deadpool and Wolverine. I’m a big fan of the first two Deadpool movies. I like the live action and animated Spider-man movies but don’t care for the whole Marvel universe movie thing so I was very disappointed that this was a Marvel Universe movie instead of a Deadpool movie. Granted there were some funny parts but I don’t ever need to see this one again.
  16. We had to put one of our cats down a few months ago and my wife, who has generally complained about the cats, wanted to get another cat. I was torn. I did but I didn’t. I finally relented. So we brought home a black cat with Batman ears. My wife, in a surprise move, wanted her brother as well. So now else have two 3-month-old panthers in addition to our less-than-pleased calico.
  17. Ran across this on Prime last night and loved it. It made me appreciate Platoon even more. Tom Berenger as Sgt Barnes was magnificent. The work they put into making this movie was amazing. Say what you will about Oliver Stone, he created a masterpiece with this film. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt6111980/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
  18. Slash released a blues/r&b album and collaborated with some big names. Top to bottom it’s phenomenal. This is from someone who can take or leave Slash. Killing Floor is the biggest surprise.
  19. I enjoyed the Easter eggs but overall it wasn’t good. At all. The woman who played Jane his daughter is a terrible actress. Atrocious. it was definitely a throw back to the 80s and they did well playing homage to the first two but I gave this a thumbs down on Netflix. I was most disappointed that Axl didn’t put a banana in the tailpipe before he jumped in the car.
  20. I serve with a bunch of older millennials and they have a lot to say about Gen Z. I think every generation does it.
  21. I found the perfect guitar. I’ve played hundreds of guitars. I’ve owned at least 60. This one blows them all away. I’m not even exaggerating.
  22. Hey, it’s that guy!! Hello Rooster!
  23. Road House. Went in expecting nothing. Did it suck? Surprisingly no. I was entertained. Lots of great humor especially from McGregor which was so over the top. I mean really over the top. Plot was thin (duh). Soundtrack was lacking the charm of the original. Still at the end of it I was entertained and amused because I went in with low expectations. Also: stay through the credits.
