  1. You can walk as far as you want. You start at one end and most people go halfway and then walk back (that's about 5 miles) but you can turn around at any point or you can walk the whole distance as there is a ferry service back to where you started. You can walk on the grate (which doesn't start until about a mile from the start) or just walk on the solid surface. When you get back, there are people handing out certificates which I though was kinda nifty.
  2. Cats are the nemesis of flat-earthers because if the world were actually flat, cats would have pushed everything over the edge.

  4. Pasties. I tried one at this little place up by the falls and it was horrible. Then I tried one in St. Ignace and it was fantastic. We bought some frozen ones to bring home. Also, if you haven't done the bridge walk on Labor Day, that is really cool too. Plan on a parking nightmare when you get there but exiting is velvety smooth thanks to the MSP.
  5. Because I limit the streaming services I pay for because I'm cheap and don't have the time/patience to watch a lot of tv, I have gone back to the beginning of "Better Call Saul" and am amazed at how much I forgot. I love it more the second time through.
  6. Killdozer.
  7. Prime time. Its a small list for sure.
  8. I met him once. His handler told me to mention how much older he was than his wife because it was one of his favorite things to hear. In hindsight I think I was set up. Still he was very kind and engaging.
  9. Oh, okay, I fell asleep about 23 seconds in because Soccer.
  10. Saw this and was reminded of that episode. nsfw language https://www.facebook.com/reel/152049014525180?fs=e&s=TIeQ9V&mibextid=xSHsxU
  11. Ad team: Okay, lets ignore the 178 minutes of extremely boring stuff and just feature the one thing that happens maybe once or twice in three hours and then soccer will finally become the sport of the future just like we've been saying for forty years!!
  12. A haircut so great that Jerry Cosyn emulated it for decades after.
  13. Sometimes it's not about the quality of the instruments or the talent level of the musicians. Sometimes its all about attitude and these dudes have it in spades.
  14. I really liked that, thanks!

  16. Not a pet peeve. I'm just extremely disappointed that a woman, who held another human being by the neck while her friend stabbed her and then proceeded to stab the victim an additional 14 times herself, was released from prison yesterday. "The more I stabbed the better it felt". She giggled at the gruesome details during her trial. Now she's out of prison.
  17. So we visited Mammoth Cave last week and we really enjoyed it. We did the two-hour tour because the others were sold out. We'll plan ahead and do the four-hour tour next time. Highly recommended. I would avoid Onyx Cave (same area) because it's just so redneck and our tour guide was a clueless dipwad. YMMV. We tried to tour Diamond but the wait was too long. Next time for sure.
  18. The dating episode really got me cheesed off (well, at least as cheesed off as a tv show could make me!) because those two were obviously perfect for each other. I would imagine that that was the intention of the writer(s). Well, it worked. The social status one is modern social media on steroids and it was really well done. I also enjoyed the Child Tracker episode because the antagonist kept leading her down so many wrong paths and the disdain I felt for him was calculable. Jodie Foster directed that episode.
  19. Every episode is different. There is an occasional reference to a previous episode but they are easter eggs more than anything. The one common thread is technology.
  20. I had watched the first episode of Black Mirror and after seeing the pig thing, I was out. The mention here recently (well recently for me as I've been out of the loop for almost a month) got me intrigued. I've really liked the series. Season four kind of dragged but the finale (the museum) was good. Just started season five and have enjoyed it immensely.
  21. Thank you! I'll read it over when I have time. That said, I'm cynical because the exact same CDC said in March 2021 that "vaccinated people don't carry the virus and don't get sick".
  22. Where is the data to back this up? I can take you at your word but I prefer "trust but verify". FTR, I am not trying to be difficult here or tell you that you're all wrong (yet!). I am genuinely curious because there are a lot of things that still get talked about here that are simply not true. But we can deal with those at a later date because the water would start to get muddy. Let's stick with the argument that the vaccine lessened the effects of Covid.
  23. Send me the best one. If it passes the smell test and I'm wrong, I'll admit it. Believe it or not, there is someone who occasionally participates in the political forum who can let go of pride and admit when they're wrong 😉 For the record, I'm not strictly on either side of the "vaccinated" fence, I just know bullying when I see it. Bullying is the business of political discussions around here and, brother, business is a boomin'.
