  1. I had watched the first episode of Black Mirror and after seeing the pig thing, I was out. The mention here recently (well recently for me as I've been out of the loop for almost a month) got me intrigued. I've really liked the series. Season four kind of dragged but the finale (the museum) was good. Just started season five and have enjoyed it immensely.
  2. Thank you! I'll read it over when I have time. That said, I'm cynical because the exact same CDC said in March 2021 that "vaccinated people don't carry the virus and don't get sick".
  3. Where is the data to back this up? I can take you at your word but I prefer "trust but verify". FTR, I am not trying to be difficult here or tell you that you're all wrong (yet!). I am genuinely curious because there are a lot of things that still get talked about here that are simply not true. But we can deal with those at a later date because the water would start to get muddy. Let's stick with the argument that the vaccine lessened the effects of Covid.
  4. Send me the best one. If it passes the smell test and I'm wrong, I'll admit it. Believe it or not, there is someone who occasionally participates in the political forum who can let go of pride and admit when they're wrong 😉 For the record, I'm not strictly on either side of the "vaccinated" fence, I just know bullying when I see it. Bullying is the business of political discussions around here and, brother, business is a boomin'.
  5. How do you know this? How can that be determined? Spoiler alert: it can't right now. Cases and symptoms varied so wildly amongst people long before the vaccinations hit that there is absolutely no way, at present, to assuredly say that the vaccination reduces symptoms and effects.
  6. The four-page report by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) said the U.S. intelligence community still could not rule out the possibility that the virus came from a laboratory I'm reading between the lines, I would say this is a case of "it's not what you know, its what you can prove". The Chinese government is never known for blocking information etc for the purpose of saving face.
  7. So let me get this straight, Covid will get the vast majority people regardless of vaccination status, but yet some unvaccinated people are complaining about long covid, which the vast majority of people would get regardless of the vaccination status, and this is a jumping point to sneer at people who disagree with you? Do I have that right?
  8. I read that in Adam Carolla's voice and it was awesome.
  9. Overheard a conversation. Person one was reading about how the latest and greatest energy drink promoted energy, alertness etc etc. Person two said it sounds like a bout of screaming diarrhea later.
  10. Funny enough, when I saw that, I got a little excited and thought that I might be back on board!
  11. I shouldn't laugh because I just started playing beach volleyball again and there are people in their mid-late 60's that have a much easier time that I do.
  12. My aunt shows up two hours before an event begins. Hope you enjoy watching us clean and organize!
  13. The comment section. That's all.
  14. I watched an episode of Most Dangerous Game on Prime because Christoph Waltz was in it. Basically an organization recruited a deep-in-debt guy who had terminal cancer to participate in a human hunt throughout the confines of Detroit so that he could leave money to his family. Some of the acting was atrocious, lots of leaps in logic and plot holes, but I didn't think my time was wasted and I will watch other episodes as they become available.
  15. Please do because I love these kind of fun facts.
  16. I had seen that. He does some really nice videos on refurbishing guitars!
  17. Raquetball was always a sport of a certain income. Low income folks couldn't afford memberships to the gyms/facilities that had the courts. Pickleball equipment is incredibly affordable and courts are popping up everywhere. No membership required because it can be played just about anywhere. So I took the long way to say that I think you're wrong on this issue. Let's bookmark this and revisit in ten years 😄
  18. I used to play raquetball and it was my hamstrings' nightmare. I have wanted to take up pickleball because it looks fun and all ages can participate. I started back to sand volleyball last week for the first time in years. I play twice a week indoors from September to May every year but sand is a whole different animal. We played last night and I am reminded of my age/physical condition this morning.
  19. I wanted to watch this game as I liked the story of the Nuggets. I did catch game four and loved how they dominated. I'm happy for them and their fans.
  20. I kinda figured it was that way. Still, Golden Girls is one of the all time great shows and I am hesitant to revisit it and be disappointed. It's pure gold in my memories and I want it to remain that way.
