More likely Manzarek had biblical knowledge of a woman that rejected Crosby and he has a room full of axes to grind. YMMV.

Having said that, Crosby possessed an amazing talent and was probably right about Manzarek from a musician's standpoint, but what matters to me is what my ears enjoy. My ears would be lacking for nothing if I never heard the Doors again but I think Riders on the Storm is an absolute masterpiece and the rain in the background is what makes it so.

The funny part for me is that I think the keys are the only really good thing about the Doors.

The Michigan Lottery has a daily "spin to win" game and I do that daily. It takes 20 seconds and if I win free plays, great. If I win a "2 dollars off a 20 dollar purchase" that goes unused. Ironically, my wife, who is really good at math, still buys a couple "Lucky for Life" tickets a month. If a jackpot goes really high, I'll spend two bucks just for fun but am fully cognizant that my odds are not any better and it would be just as effective to give that money to an intersection beggar.

The McDonald's double drive through strikes again! When I'm in a rush, I'll order stuff on the McD app. The other morning I pull in and there is a semi making a delivery. It is partially blocking one lane but I can squeeze in. I pull up to the speaker expecting to tell them my mobile order number. After a long delay, a voice comes over and says "the lane is closed because the truck is in the way". I said, "oh, well, I'm already here and I have a mobile order" (or something to that effect - not rude or offputting). "The lane is closed because the truck is in the way" the voices repeats because I obviously didn't catch that the first time. "So you can't take my order?" "The lane is closed because the truck is in the way". I drove off and canceled my order. Then I thought of @pfife.

I don't think a lot of folks here would care to watch it because it's Jesus tv but The Chosen is an absolutely fantastic series. Great acting and very subtle humor sprinkled in.

Satriani channels Beck a lot on his new album but especially so on this song.

100% correct. Before I understood what he was doing, I didn't really appreciate him. Once I observed and thought about what he was doing, I really appreciated the talent and discipline to create the sounds he produced. Still Freeway Jam and The Pump are pretty accessible to the average music listener.
