  1. I’m sorry, no. This is the first time in years that more than a handful of people discussed an awards show. Even Jussie is scoffing.
  2. Craigslist. I also had it on Facebook Marketplace. Been selling a lot of parts and pieces on CL and messenger.
  3. Put my modded Harley Benton semi hollow body up for sale and said I’d be interested in trading for a MIJ guitar. Along came this 1989 MIJ strat with noiseless pickups. Trade accepted.
  4. Staged. Declining ratings needed some buzz. If he was really mad, he'd have closed-fisted him.
  5. I am one of the minority who really enjoys live albums (apparently they normally don't sell well). If a band has a live album, I will use that as my introduction to them. On a similar note, there are bands that I have seen live who had previously underwhelmed me but, after seeing them live, I was turned into a fan. The live show is always what mattered to me. This is why if a studio album sounds raw and relatively unpolished, I will probably like that much more than if the album went thru the Phil Specter treatment.
  6. I would have used the pogo song by System of a Down instead....
  7. I always wrote off Foo Fighters as dad rock. I had only heard the studio versions and, while the songs were good, they always seemed too polished and I prefer a more raw style of rock. Then I saw/heard their Live from Wembley concert and I was all in. ALL in.
  8. I had to walk away for ten minutes and come back to it.
  9. I’m sure this was shared elsewhere but it’s too good to not share with everyone who doesn’t venture into the Lions forum.
  10. That really sucks. Great drummer and seemed like a great guy.
  11. Stones Get Your YaYas Out is the only release I regularly visit from them. So raw and bluesy. Mick Taylor brought the best out in the Keef IMO.
  12. I despise this game. It is a hideous beast and yet I cannot look away. Daily Survivle 19: 5 rounds ⬛⬛⬛🟨⬛ 🟩🟨⬛⬛⬛ 🟩⬛⬛🟨⬛ 🟩🟩🟩🟩⬛ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 https://lazyguyy.github.io/survivle/
  13. My wife likes the regular ones better too.
  14. You just need a guy. I don't do many of my own mods...maybe the pegs but anything else is done through a local guy who has forgotten more about guitars than I'll ever know. I'll usually buy the harness, pickups etc and let him do what he does. Had him do a refret and it's absolutely beautiful. He doesn't judge or offer opinions unless I ask (antithesis of a cork sniffer). If you know what you like but don't trust yourself with a soldering iron, then find a guy like that!
  15. I don't think there is much a difference in the feel IMO but I really don't pay attention. As an aesthetic guy, I like the darker wood. As to your local guitar guru, sounds like he's a cork sniffer. I buy guitars to play and, if I grow tired of them, I know I can sell them at a profit but that's not why I own them. In fact, the more beat up the better IMO.
  16. This product will darken your brown fretboards. I used it on the black les paul on the right above and it looks very ebonyish unless you're 6 inches away and then you can see some of the brown of the rosewood. The longer you leave it on, the darker it gets so I'm going to leave it on for 30 minutes at the next string change. https://www.montysguitars.com/products/montys-montypresso-relic-wax
  17. Word. The newer pao ferro and other fretboard materials are too brown and just look cheap IMO. Ebony with MOP inlays is stunning.

  19. The high end customs do (the one in the middle). The others from the 70s and 80s (the other two black ones) have Brazilian Rosewood.

  22. Two artists that, if I never heard them again, I wouldn't miss them: Bob Dylan and The Doors
  23. Well apparently I am winning my marriage by a landslide.
