Jordan Reed played TE for the Football Team I believe, if it's the same guy now working for ESPN. I'd be just fine with this mock as well. It gets us good players and fills needs. When Burks was picked at #26 I am assuming both Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave were already gone?

No one was in 2009 and 2013 either and yet they did. I'll grant that some people were thinking Hockenson in 2019, but most wanted a defensive player. I'm not ruling out Wydermyer as a potential pick unless someone in the organization or multiple credible media reports rule it out. They need a receiving threat and the organization may not view that need from the same lens we as fans do, ie receiving threat being a WR.

I might as well say it, since given the history of this franchise and the Ford's fetish with the position, what about Texas A&M TE Jalen Wydermyer with our second 1st round pick? I mean, we need receiving weapons in the worst way and no one said it has to be a WR. I wouldn't do it, but given this organization's history with the position and the fact that Hockenson looks like yet another 1st round TE a bust relative to where he was picked (I've been waiting to type Hockenson and bust in the same sentence since he was drafted), it is probably something worth looking out for.

I'd love to see the basis of Trump/McConnell/McCarthy, who ballooned the national debt and federal budget deficit with their tax cuts for the ultra rich, being a conservatives.

I wouldn't do it either, I was just responding to what Shinzaki wrote. We need a dynamic edge rusher in the worst way possible and if I'm not taking a QB #1 overall than Thibodeaux is my guy.

I know that Kyle Hamilton is not just a traditional Safety and can be moved all over the field and schemed into different concepts given his athletic profile and versatility. I also know that past draft decisions by a prior regime should not dictate future draft decisions by a new regime. That said, there is something wholly underwhelming about having four Top 10 picks in a row and you come away with a TE, CB, LT, and S and not one QB or Edge Rusher/DE. I don't think you can pass on Thibodeaux for Kyle Hamilton. As good as Hamilton may be in coverage, creating turnovers, and adding versatility to this defense, we need a dynamic pass rusher capable of disrupting the QB and getting 10+ sacks a season that we can build this defense around. I don't know that Hamilton is a guy you're building the defense around.

It also means you where a confederate flag trucker hat. Only those who wear confederate flag paraphernalia can be America First.

Stafford watch (A place for Stafford discussion)
Mr.TaterSalad replied to RedRamage's topic in Detroit Lions
So initially I said I'd lower the rent for every win over Ohio State. Then he came back to me and renegotiated a new deal at the start of last season and I agreed to lower the rent for every win over Mel Tucker. I even offered him cash back for every win over a top 10 opponent and double the money back for every win when he's the underdog. So far I've been keeping all the money I offered up. -
Stafford watch (A place for Stafford discussion)
Mr.TaterSalad replied to RedRamage's topic in Detroit Lions
I think the Stafford we saw last night, intermixed with the Matt Stafford we've seen all season, is who the real Stafford is. A guy who sometimes looks elite, sometimes looks great, sometimes looks average, and once in a while looks terrible. He's simply not an elite (top 5) QB and never deserved to be paid like one. I think he has all the physical tools to be a top 5 guy, but makes too many dumb decisions and metal errors to be that guy throughout the entirety of a season. While I don't think the Rams will miss the playoffs, I do think they will be an early exit and I'd put that on Stafford. Stafford to me is a lot like Harbaugh, in that he excels and looks great against the teams you expect him to and then in big game situations, frequently plays down and struggles to get over the hump. -
Just like Texas they don't win big games anymore, they don't win rivalry games, they don't win conference championships, they don't win bowl games. Also, Harbaugh went 2-4 last year and Texas went 7-3. And at 7-3 Tom Herman still got fired.
-
When Harbaugh loses 62-30 to Ohio State (which is my prediction for the final score) he should have his name added to the list, but sadly Michigan has lowered its standards to become the Texas of the midwest. We'll miss out on Fickell, which will be a real shame.

I watched the HBO January 6th documentary. I'm proud of myself and clear with conscience because I voted for Joe Biden and had no part of this insurrection and terrorist chaos. If you haven't watched it yet I highly recommend checking it out.

Ohio State put up 45 on Purdue in the first half. If Purdue beat Michigan State, who beat Michigan, allows Ohio State to put 45 up on them in one half of football, that means Harbaugh is going to allow them to put up 80, if you connect all the dots haha. It could be 80-0 by the end of the first half against Harbaugh and Michigan.
