  1. Tork will remain with the team. The fan base has an emotional investment in him. That's fine, but we know what we have with him. I think fixing the 3B and finding a starting pitcher or 2 looms greater.
  2. We have three seasons that average out to a sub replacement level performance with little evidence that he has found it. After what, 1400 at bats, I have seen enough.
  3. Tork is a sub replacement player.
  4. I think the biggest problem we are facing this off-season is the general sense of so many we have one big crapshoot for the World Series and then we will have spent our wad. An average of 1.5 WAR from each member of a 26 man active roster and your looking at an 87 win season. It would also be easy to make a major mistake this off-season. Handled properly, I can see 4 or more years of the possibility of a WS win. I am not sold on Bregman. I am sold on the need for more pitching and a right handed outfielder. I still would advise caution.
  5. Tork is a baked cake. What you see is what you get. I am going to assume until proven otherwise by Torkelson's on field play that he is not now, and never will be a credible MLB first baseman.
  6. With Keith, I would think a good off-season could reveal a stronger and more sturdy arm then last year. He also appears to be getting bigger and stronger.
  7. Boyd would be a good fit for the Tigers.
  8. My guess is the answer at first base for 2026 or 2027 is Liranzo. Tork needs to be gone. He will never improve hear. He would probably do well in Arizona or Anaheim.
  9. As much as we would like a big FA signing, Harris in his end of year presser kind of said that it's not going to happen. I'd like both a new 3b and 1b, but that is not realistic. I would think maybe 2 SPs that are good, and reclamation projects for other needs
  10. I would like Alanzo at first and trade Tork.
  11. Rehire Al Alivia
  12. This just might be the most critical juncture the Tigers reside at since 2005. Take a look at the outfielder for a moment. While there is much to admire, there are also some questions peering into the future. Carp and Geene are solid players, but both have had significant injury histories so far into their respective careers. Carpenter's back issues can take a serious turn . Does Perez have a place moving forward in Detroit or is he a depth piece for Toledo? A right handed outfielder addition might make some sense for example. An upgrade is desirable at third. Is Tork the answer at first. As mentioned earlier, chemistry is this case is very important as mentioned earlier. I advise caution.
  13. I think the Bally sports mess , which will leave almost the entire division looking for new avenues for TV coverage, will be the most impactful variable on the AL Central's off-season. That would also indicate that I would not be surprised if much of the division is very parsimonious this off season . BTW, I would trade Tork in a heartbeat.
  14. How can anyone be disappointed with this season? They exceeded expectations, and the are pieces on the big club and the farm that bode well for long term. I think we are short a starter, and infielder, ( 1st or 3rd), and a right handed outfielder short. It will be fun to watch what Harris and Co. come up with
  15. I don't have cable , so I don't watch ESPN anymore. Am I right to assume that non stop orgasmic delight is being seen on that network due to the fact the Yankees, Mets, and Dodgers are in the playoffs?
  16. The biggest person it is burning up is Boras. The agent meister will put a stop to this for '25.
  17. I make have to brake out the scotch. This is tense.
  18. Wally the Walrus makes it home. 2-0.
  19. Things are jelling as Hurter works out of a jam.
