Luis Robert to Mets for 2 blah prospects. Nice roll of the dice by the Mets. If Robert can play 100-110 games (huge ? mark there) could be impactful for them.

right now in terms of asset allocation, the Tigers have 1 year of Skubal, might be worth 6-8 WAR in 2026 + the 31st pick in 2027. The chances he signs with Det are approaching zero. it is obvious to me the proactive decision would be to trade him now.

Hoerner would be a fantastic fit. with Tucker moving on and Cassie traded, would the Cubs be interested in some LH power and trade 1 year of Hoerner for 3 years of Carpenter? saves the Cubs, who are right at the CB tax level, about some money as well, about 9M.

we probably could have predicted 32M as the ask as Soto has the largest pre-free agency salary ever of 31M. Boras and Skubal are both very interested in setting new price markers, first with the arbitration award, and then in free agency (for both years and total comp). and there in no way an arbitrator decides Skubal is worth less than Price, so Skubal has already won

My prediction: the first 3 plays on offense will be runs up the middle for 3, -1, and 2 yards. "We're a running team first and I thought it was important to establish the run behind 3 rookies including a practice squad C, who I like to pretend are All-pros even though everyone knows they are not."
