  1. Every Sunday home game, the Tigers should pick a random fan to play SS. Call it a try out. Could it work? Of course it could! If they don't try, they have already failed.
  2. your optimism is really impressive, or completely bat-**** insane; probably both they have ONE high-end talent in the top 4 levels of the organization - Riley Greene Carp, Tork, Keith, Jung, Lee, Dingler, Rogers, Ibanez, Vierling, Meadows are all guys who can contribute, some more so than others but winning teams have 3-4 of those guys on them not 10 or 11 assuming that the Tigers actually know how to develop talent - which apparently they do not - the talent available is neither deep or high end
  3. I would put Flaherty on IL. It might suppress his trade value, but the way things are going I want to head off any injury that stops him from being traded altogether. Worse case scenario he gets injured, hurts his back really bad, no QO made, and Scott is left holding an empty bag for the second year in a row.
  4. would have been a nice get. again we see trades being made not involving top prospects.
  5. I think you would split the difference either: John and Jane Woods Gipson-Long Richardson or Jane and John Gipson-Woods Richardson-Long. Depends on whether you prefer your call sign to be WGLR or GWRL. Probably need a poll to explore further.
  6. all would greatly prefer Holliday, but there are other people who can play SS besides him. of course, Harris could not find any of those other people last winter to guard against Javy's continued collapse, which is why they have AAAA McKinstry and FFFF Kreidler.
  7. Probably the most offensive thing ever posted on MTF. Bigbie? Baddoo? Cruz? Vilade? Navigato? Kreidler? Pure Insanity.
  8. this lost season might be the best time to convert Holton to a starter.
  9. did not want to have to carry Bronny's luggage probably
  10. Clark was always the long term-high risk play, but I see Langford had a fantastic June.
  11. I think Seattle and Philadelphia and Atlanta and maybe very few other teams are willing to move big time prospects. But most teams just won't do it.
  12. I think they are hoping that the humiliation ends sooner rather than later; Harris could help move them from historically incompetent to really bad.
  13. having just the middle game of a 3 game LAA set go back to Detroit makes little sense; probably a Manfred idea
  14. and if he has a decent year, you can trade him at deadline for another 2nd round pick
  15. who are these young guys they are developing? where are they? I guess you can still dream on some of the Toledo guys to be ML contributors: Jung, Tork, Dingler, Meadows, even Leonard. Maybe that gets you 2 average starters? a platoon bat? a bench guy? then it gets really bad. Erie has only Lee as a real prospect, with Cruz and Workman probably seeing time with some team as McKinstry-level utility guys. WMI: not much at all here. Campos? Gold? once the AAA guy get a chance and either succeed or fail, there is a massive void in the next 2 seasons behind them.
  16. I hope they use 40th anniversary events as a springboard for Lou's HOF case.
  17. hard to believe NYY would trade Dominguez if they were not getting Skubal if you want Peraza, just wait a few weeks and claim him on waivers
  18. AJ seems to spend lots of time and energy genuinely focused on rearranging these deck chairs (like all his platooning) but he knows this sh** sandwich does not taste very good at all.
  19. getting dominated by a 27-year old rookie making his first career start. this team blows.
  20. apparently there's a NBA draft going on right now
  21. i assume they have 7 votes for democracy; once they have just 5 votes, Roberts could release decision; he wants it unanimous; Alito and Thomas might be getting all they can from this: a delay that is pissing off their critics
  22. i do think that Roberts is trying to get Alito and Thomas on board so it is 9-0.
  23. Roberts knows debate is tonight so he was not releasing it today
  24. in addition to allowing bribery so long as you get paid after, 6-3 court just got rid of SEC in-house actions, bouncing them to over burdened fed courts. considering that prosecutors don't go after white collar crime generally, this means more and more securities fraudsters will go unpunished. truly awful decision. Corruption, corruption, corruption
  25. Willi Castro is on pace for 5+ WAR for the ***** Twins; would like to hear Harris & Co explain what they missed when he walked out the door for nothing.
