  1. Competitive Balance Pick currently at 36
  2. lottery is 830 tonight difference between 1 and 9 is about $4m to play with Tigers will have 3 of the top 50 picks regardless
  3. don't mind them passing on the draft, but I doubt they have not discussed
  4. after he wins a WS, then you can fire him for not being efficient
  5. Kyle Gibson's contract with Baltimore is 1/10M; rather have Boyd
  6. new reports are 2/86.66, so exactly equal to Max? plus a $35M player option if JV hits 140 innings in 2024
  7. JV to Mets 2/86.8 Just beats Max's 43.3 AAV.
  8. hopefully this will become an irrelevant exercise to the organization sooner rather than later looking at https://www.fangraphs.com/players/gabriel-martinez/sa3008865/stats?position=OF https://www.fangraphs.com/players/andres-chaparro/sa916976/stats?position=3B https://www.fangraphs.com/players/ryan-noda/sa873960/stats?position=1B/OF https://www.fangraphs.com/players/thad-ward/sa3008098/stats?position=P https://www.fangraphs.com/players/jayden-murray/sa1170405/stats?position=P https://www.fangraphs.com/players/tj-sikkema/sa3011191/stats?position=P https://www.fangraphs.com/players/erik-miller/sa3011336/stats?position=P might lose https://www.fangraphs.com/players/elvis-alvarado/sa919291/stats?position=P/OF
  9. not franchise altering, but holding onto Chafin because he misread the market and Chafin's decision, perfectly demonstrates the failures of Avila The Tigers’ situation with Chafin was particularly difficult. Detroit shopped him as a reliever contenders could have for a season and a half thanks to the two-year contract he signed as a free agent last March. However, many teams viewed him as a rental due to the opt-out clause in his contract. Detroit decided to keep Chafin at the Deadline, believing they could hold onto him for 2023. Instead, Chafin opted out, hoping to take advantage of a thin free-agent relief market, leaving the Tigers with nothing in return.
  10. Boyd's contract will look quite normal soon
  11. yeah, the first player he brings in is a re-tread from some of the darkest recent days. but this is twice now that he has targeted Boyd, so maybe he sees something?
  12. Harris cycled through a lot of starting pitcher in SF and sometimes it worked really well, sometimes not Gausman, Wood, Smyly, DeSclafani, Tyler Anderson, Cahill
  13. looks like a lot of money now; may not in a few weeks
  14. high K RH OF released by Ariz after 75 ABs
  15. Apropos of nothing, the "ignore" feature is working great for me.
  16. how awesome would it be if he wins?
  17. play him for April, IL May to August, play him in Sept. Tigers close with a 6 game homestand aka Miggy Mania
  18. Minor League GG for Reece Olsen https://www.mlb.com/news/2022-minor-league-gold-glove-award-winners
  19. Lipcius cannot hit velocity? i think that might be a problem
  20. he would be a great fit for Tigers; I doubt Tor trades him away as they would become almost exclusively RH with position players; don't know if any Det OF interests Tor, but they clearly want a CF, and LH OF bats Josh Smith and Ezekiel Duran of Tex are blocked by Simien, Seager and Jung; one or both would be a good pick up
  21. controlling the strike zone probably means more than just high BB and low K, but here are some of those guys https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/11/trying-to-find-hidden-gems-with-bb-k-2022-23-edition.html
  22. Candy is still one of the best short term 3B options out there; from Freep Before cutting ties with Candelario, the Tigers attempted to bring him back at a cheaper rate. It’s unclear if those negotiations will continue,
  23. to me, the utter incompetence the organization displayed all year regarding hitting clouds any analysis of Tork he still had solid BB and K numbers, and some bad luck, decent EVs but clearly something was (is?) way off; terrifying to think we have yet another slow bat prospect
