  1. I would sign RH OF Austin Hays, giving them a very solid OF/DH rotation of Greene-Meadow-Carpenter-Hays-Vierling (with Vierling getting some time at 3B) and I would trade a whole lot for SS Bo Bichette (Jung/Olson/+ more ?). Appears as though Toronto is willing to move him and replace him with Gimenez instead of having him walk for a 4th round pick in 2026. Meadows/Bichette/Greene/Carpenter/Hays/Vierling/Keith/Tork/Sweeney/Ibanez/McKinstry/Rogers/Dingler wins the AL Central. FInd 2 decent choice to stash at Toledo for 1b and C should Tork and/or Dingler bomb.
  2. Fangraphs has 2025 projections out and Dingler and Navigato are projected to be the 3rd and 8th most productive position players by WAR. That's .... interesting.
  3. 20M is totally reasonable, 3 years is some risk, he'll be 36 the last year; Tigers would have forfeited pick #63. Astros roll the dice again on an older FA first baseman
  4. easy to say, but just go get a young RH SS who can complement Sweeney to some large or small degree
  5. Ben Johnson is not going there.
  6. Could fake it with McKinstry for a while? but Kreidler is not a ML hitter; and Baez will get a look, but as you say, almost certainly fail/flail; maybe by then Kim would be healthy? after NYY are done shuffling infield, one guy to look at is Oswald Peraza. was a top prospect with Volpe and Sweeney, but injuries derailed good start; he is just 24, a good IF defender, a RH bat, but out of options so maybe they are moving on
  7. whether he believes is Tork or not, Harris needs to acquire a decent alternative to protect against Tork flopping again. right now there is no back up 1b in detroit or toledo. if that player is Yandy Diaz or Goldschmidt, i think that tells us what Harris thinks of Tork
  8. Tigers sign Ryan Miller!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. this is true, unless it is not if they reach the WS twice in the first 4 years and win it once, would that be OK? or would 2 years of minimal production be too inefficient for you?
  10. Winston and Levis as well. Cousins looked terrified to throw the ball in Vegas last night.
  11. Bellinger to NYY in salary dump; Cubs get a warm body
  12. with the Lions or with the Rams?
  13. Because of Scott Harris' inaction, we have been painfully forced to rehash: ERod non-trade; non-serious offers to FA Correa; Astros cheating; Skubal trade; and Baez signing. It may be harsh, but I would fire him for this.
  14. CDIII broken jaw, surgery, out until SB
  15. SB is 8 weeks from yesterday. Maybe they have these 11 guys available to start? Smith-Levi-Reader-Pascal Campbell-Anzalone Arnold-Rakestraw(Vildor?)-Robertson Branch-Kirby Depth from practice squad guys and street free agents. Ugh. ???: Hutch, Jamal Adams, E Mosley
  16. i understand that people are pissed off at the Astros, and that's fine the biggest issue seems to be is that they found a successful way to cheat with technology. other teams (like the Yankees and the Red Sox) were cheating with Apple watches but no one came close to the Astros success. MLB quickly and quietly fined both teams and suspended no one.
  17. Astros looking at a Arenado trade. I do not think Yankees really want Bregman who they called a cheater. I have always thought that move moves = even more moves, so let's keep it moving!
  18. good defense and league average offense is a borderline allstar at C.
  19. Interesting that the Cubs need to dump Bellinger still. And Suzuki's agent came out and said he does not want to be full time DH, but Tucker is a GG winner in RF. 3b could be be Matt Shaw.
  20. if the Astros trade Tucker for Paredes+more, then I assume they are out on Bregman even though that gives them more financial flexibility. fingers crossed.
  21. no idea if this is just some rando's website, but he claims Elias won't spend $ in free agency to make O's better https://pitcherlist.com/orioles-gm-unwilling-to-spend-despite-green-light-from-owner/ bigger problem is that Elias has traded away a lot of young talent the last 2 years and does not have enough to show for it heading into 2025.
  22. looks like Hicks is not going to TB, staying with Marlins; TB had trade lined up, but it was with Phillies to select Vasil from Mets and then he was sent to TB I get why people like the OBP and his LH stick, but no power, and Hinch is not playing a C who is a poor defender. Marlins have had some of the worst catchers for years so maybe he stays there
