  1. amazing to me that Manchin and Collins are trying to convince their voters and the press that when obvious liars told obvious lies, and when they were warned that obviously these obvious liars are obviously lying, that Manchin and Collins were so stupid they actually believed the obvious lies
  2. Bagley is an asset, but his value is now lessened with Duren on the team. to the extent that he may slow or complicate the development of Stew and Duren, he might just be in the way as soon as this season
  3. When this was leaked, what did Dems do to codify Roe? jack sh|t (and yes Sinema and Manchin are a problem) when Obama had A SUPER MAJORITY of the House and Senate, did he follow thru with his promise to codify Roe on Day 1? nope; jack sh|t again; nothing, just fukking nothing the Dem party is incompetent - consistently failing to believe the GOP will actually do what the GOP is actually doing and yes, the fact that some non-significant number of Dems looked at Hillary and Trump and could not see any difference is insane this party and these voters deserve each other
  4. the fact that Kav needs to write this shows 1) he knows that plenty of state will try it (and are trying it now) and 2) he knows some current justices will support that insanity
  5. every one of those trades would have been better than what Al got 😉
  6. i think this will get retconned to speculation that "AJ could have had ...."
  7. allowing teams to see Carpenter multiple times thru the season, and see how he reacts to that, could be reason enough to leave him at AA all year; not sure AAA pitching is better than AA pitching this year
  8. he may have requested a trade after latest demotion
  9. yes; no idea the Tigers need a RH OF with power (among many other things)
  10. would much prefer any of the college bats he has going in the preceding 5 picks
  11. Corey Joseph opts in 5.1M
  12. Zach Harper of The Athletic has them taking Mathurin at 5, Murray at 4, with Ivey slipping to Spurs at 9. That would be surprising.
  13. Cash considerations are nice, but I prefer cash.
  14. after 51, they don't pick until 117, so they had better get those first 2 right (even though they have been drafting better lately)
  15. they can only move needle so much, and they did others have noted, you are trying to get a few sane people on the margins to see the truth (hardcore MAGA is just lost forever) and I think this helped ultimately, Trump and the other main baddies will escape justice once again
  16. I would suggest the ability to easily identify a handful of genuine prospects (including yes some under the radar guys) from the last 10 years is a damning indictment of Avila and the Tigers.
  17. yeah. having Short, Niko, or Iglesias as the starting SS could very well have been the result of not signing Baez again, Al has been really bad at multiple jobs for the Tigers for literally decades not exaggerating that his best skill seems to be Rule 5 drafting
  18. Lynn has a multipart series this week on the tigers decades long failures in the minors. it is brutal - but not nearly brutal enough. he also claims that Venezuela's collapse hurt the tigers a lot, but I don't think their Ven system actually produced much more than organizational players. also the tiger really think think that this round of international players will be different, which is exactly what they thought for the last 30 years edit: it is just amazing how much DD's trades and Mike's $ covered up abject system failures
  19. i cannot believe this team is 3 games ahead of KC
  20. we passed that point years ago; outside of a few recent wins, they have literally decades of failing to identify or develop amateur talent which Avila was totally involved in; they have been particularly horrible in the international market and developing position players; the small recent successes only look good in light of their abject historical failure; Avila should have been fired a dozen times
  21. can't you argue this either way? pitchers are so susceptible to injury, it does not make sense to repeatedly spend FA dollars on pitchers, so the answer is to draft and develop as many arms as you can, hoping to find more Mizes and Faedos, rather than Burrows and Crawfords.
  22. might be a months long destination if Tork goes to Toledo for the summer
  23. yes its true that we should document all this criminality, but the MAGAs just don't care they were duped - they love the lies; they want the lies; they need the lies
  24. I think the vast majority of these people are delighted to be lied to; they are willfully and aggressively ignorant.
