  1. I don't think the Toronto package was any better.
  2. Like a dozen guys have more than 10 Homers. It's the midwest league.
  3. This is a very pessimistic way of looking at the picture. What did you want them to do keep flaherty and win maybe a game more this year? What good is that gonna do versus maybe finding a guy that helps you win 30 more games over the next 10 years. And the comp pick might be better but two things are most likely gonna be true with the comp pick. They will be older and they will have less minor league success than what we got back. Seems to me the guy with a bit of a track record might be a better ticket than holding on to a guy for 1 more win ans older ticket with less evidence about their potential for success.
  4. His production would make anyone sad
  5. Cool. I'll give them a participation ribbon.
  6. So good they haven't won anything. This place loves the Rays more than anything when really they've had no more success than us in the dombrowski days.
  7. paredes maybe. but no reason to give up prospects for a 32 year old .08 war guy, with one year outlier, who is a free agent in 18 months
  8. 5 innings 5k 5 walks A new league record
  9. Ok that's not the same as if he 'pan out'
  10. For about the hundreth time. The trade was awful given what we know. But at the time it was regarded and everybody demanded money to take JV because he had some bad stretched before the last half a season before the trade. You take four prospect with the hope one or two turn out to be all-star since the guy your trading is either gonna leave or is old. If they traded Skubal is because its unlikely we are gonna win next year and you think Holliday is gonna be a four WAR player very soon.
  11. Prospects have how much ML time? Skubal has how much? I think skubal has proven he is a major league pitcher.
  12. wouldn't think that high. Other teams see the same problems we do
  13. That doesn't happen a ton for first round guys anymore. They lost a ton of leverage. Teams know if they don't they just get the same pick next year and none of the top HS guys really want to go to college anyway and put it all at risk.
  14. and? They will still be in lakeland no? They will still be years away from competiting no? The bust rate of picks is till fairly high no? The chances the White Sox will look the same in 1 years, 2 or 4 years is extremly low no?
  15. Worrying about which side of the plate some guy at lakeland hits is beyond silly
  16. Flaherty isn't a building block unless he agrees to a four year deal tomorrow. You flip those guys for help.
  17. Carson kelly hitting cleanup...so this year is going great
  18. Cool, so my point stands I guess. You keep talking about I want/would've traded down. It takes two teams to trade. You can't just move down because you want to, it takes a team to move up it takes a fair offer. In this crazy weak draft that was gonna be hard to come by. It isn't as easy as saying oh he owuld have been then at 9 I would have just traded down.
  19. Again, it takes two to trade.
  20. Who is gonna trade up?
  21. Yes crazy how people can change thier mind based on evidence.
  22. No reason. Langdon is the decider. Think Scott harris. he didn't hire a GM for a year.
