I disagree. I feel like gayness is yesterday's news. I think they're more apt to elect a baby faced clean cut white gay guy over a woman of color. I wanted Pete as the VP pick. He picked Kamala because he promised he'd pick a black woman. Not saying that she wasn't qualified, just not popular.

No, they think every disease is currently caused by fluoride in the water. The crazy nut job homeschoolers have been shunning Fluoride for years and are cool with putting their kids through painful treatment so long as they don't get evil fluoride

Well, we won't have to worry about the hispanic vote in 4 years. Again, I feel like this was a lack of planning and foresight on behalf of the Democrats. It was thought all along that Biden was just the gap one term president. But they had no plan, no heir apparent. Gotta say, was never a fan of Kamala as VP. Got too late a start with out a theme or a defining identity other than not Trump. They did a poor job of addressing the "Kamala wants to pay for prisoners sex changes" I don't know as though they addressed it at all? Same with the border. While most of what the Trump turds said are lies, because of the media, it has to be addressed. I thought the abortion thing was WAY overplayed. A big issue, yes. But they didn't address the economy in any meaningful way. People still are unaware the deficits rise under Rs and go down under Ds. Their marketing still sucks. But this has been years in the making. Once we lost the media, the emergence of the echo chamber social media, podcasts, Russian interference, couldn't put the toothpaste back in the tube. I don't think the Democrats can nominate anyone other than a younger white man next time. They need to start early and figure something out. Truthfully, I think once Trump dies, the movement starts to fade. I can't think of any young Republicans that anyone is fired up about. They even hate JD Vance. Hopefully there are still elections to be had.

Pretty much seems like an exact replay of 2020. All the talk of ooh, we can flip Florida, Texas is in play, Beto can win, Amy McGrath can beat Mitch McConnell. Hopefully the rest happens the way it did in 2020.

The House and Mike Johnson are my concern...Trying to get it to the courts. Will they succeed in the long run? Probably not. But it just sets up another cycle of the "stolen" election and sowing doubt, inciting violence and more hate.
-
Um...hmmmm, er...uh...yep! Pretty much. I do hope you're correct about the peaceful transfer to Harris, but I won't hold my breath. Chances are it's the Trump people who won't get over it and move on. I may forgive some of the Trump voters that I know, but I'll never forget. Ever. What's the saying, when people show you who they are, believe them?

I don't think your view is accurate as a woman who was assaulted as a child. They're men in power, men in your neighborhood, at your church, your coworker, your health care provider, a guy you went to school with, possibly even a family member, or the former President of the United States. Too many have the idea that "they" are these crazy slime balls that hide in the shadows and attack strangers. I'm sure there are those, but many more who blend in to every day life that you'd never suspect. That's how they do what they do. Unfortunately, too many like 1776 who think there's a time limit on it, or that you have to "prove it", or that they're being vulgar or manly or locker room talk.
-
This doesn't answer the question. But nice attempt at distraction.
-
I will assume that means if a strange man approached your wife, daughter or mother and grabbed her pussy and forcibly kissed her against her will, you would shrug that off as stupid and vulgar and be totally cool with it? Am I understanding that correctly?
-
When he said on tape he liked to grab them by the pussy. You?
-
I literally can't think of anything that would change any Trump cult members' minds at this point. They could have him on tape raping a 10 year old boy, calling his supporters stupid, pooping his pants, screaming Glory to Allah. It wouldn't change a thing.

American League Division Series Game #5 (2-2) 1:08PM 10/12/24
Kacie replied to Tigeraholic1's topic in Game Threads
It's like with the Lions being up 17 points at halftime in the NFC Championship game and what seemed like in impossible dream is one half away. It's not that the Tigers season as a whole is a disappointment. Not at all. But up 2-1, game 4 at home to close it out, getting the go ahead run and 7 outs a way? Yeah, it stings. So many teams, in every sport look like they have bright futures and never get close again. -

He's to the Tigers like Joe Pavelski was to the Red Wings. I wish they would've left Skubal in to "accidentally" throw a 100mph fastball a little too high and inside. -

I thought that with the Lions. Hey, we made the playoffs. That's an improvement, no matter what happens. Nope! We're here. I want to win. Too hard to get here. Thankful TP isn't a Tigers fan. -
https://www.reuters.com/world/us/harris-propose-new-funds-at-home-senior-care-aiming-sandwich-generation-2024-10-08/ This is brilliant. Caring for the aging and disabled is such a huge issue, but rarely discussed by politicians. Not even just a plan, but how to pay for it.

I don't know if it's that simple. For some, absolutely. But I think it's more complicated than that. I know that most of them don't *think* they are racist. It will also end any conversation if that's where it starts. Fear coupled with the perception that someone else is getting something for *free* when they worked hard is something that resonates with many. Yesterday's welfare Moms and gays are today's illegals and transsexuals. When you can pick and choose the news that will reinforce your fears and perceived economic unfairness, it only adds fuel to the fire.
-
We're not depressed, we're exhausted. Having to deal with friends, family and colleagues who used to be normal, rational, intelligent people evolve into racist, hateful, knuckle dragging cult followers sucks the life out of you. They won't follow what the Pope says about immigrants, but they will listen to Trump. There is no fact they can't twist or distort to fit their Trumpian view of the world. After hearing **** like, the Stock Market is doing well because they know Trump is coming back and Trump might not be the best person, but Biden supports abortion, so he can't call himself a Catholic...or my Priest told us not to watch the Olympics because they mocked the Last Supper...welp, I give up.
-
Absolutely! I'll use this opportunity to shamelessly plug my friend, Callie Barr, running for Congress in District #1. callieforcongress.com. Ideal candidate and it would be great to flip the House.
-
Nope, not the least bit sad. I'm thoroughly enjoying it and hope he has a long, slow, painful physical and cognitive decline. I love how the Harris camp is pounding him on crowd size and weirdness. Call him a traitor or racist...meh, but weird or unpopular loser?
-
Sorry, can't seem to embed a tweet, but this one made me laugh. "MAGA is referring to Walz as "Tampon Tim. I mean, he's definitely going to stop any chance of a red wave."
-
I'll be curious to see how it plays out if Trump does indeed lose in November and what the reaction will be? Are we going to have the stolen election schtick, Trump 2028 or ****, what were we thinking? With the attacks, old man, anti semitic, tampons. They were caught totally off guard with the Biden withdrawal and they're just trying to throw **** at the wall to see if any of them stick. Doesn't seem like they're having much luck so far.
-
Sort of on topic, but not. Who is the future of the Republican party? They seem to only like Trump, none of his loyal bootlickers, not the never Trumpers or anyone who has criticized him. I'm overwhelmed with the number of good options the Democrats have young and old. Is there an heir apparent to Trump? Are the Republicans even thinking about a post Trump world?
-
I do find it ironic that Harris and Walz are considered the "Youth Movement". They are about the same age as Barack Obama who served two terms and has been out of office 8 years. Love the Harris/Walz ticket. But I also think we have to learn our lesson. In 8 years, Whitmer will be 60. Many of the young up and comers won't still be. It is amazing what the Democrats have pulled off in the past few weeks. I like the deep bench, but also not a bad idea to keep the farm system filled with actual young people.

Ha, I don't get if this is a joke I'm not getting or if I should actually explain?
