Tonight was so incredibly delicious.

With talent this team will win. I really criticized Campbell the first 65% of the season. By the 3rd game of his play calling you could truly see the week to week improvement in his game management, clock use and aggressiveness. And man, Glenn is a great compliment. They did so much with so little. This off-season is so incredibly critical. Decent cap space (top 10), lots of draft capital and the ability to really add some talent to this roster. Gonna be fun to see how Holmes approaches the off-season. I hope Campbell continues to call plays next year.

I like the mocks that have lions taking Hutchinson and Malik Willis.

Looking at the cap numbers it would be very surprising if Trey Flowers returns. The cap is set at $208M. Currently the lions have $41M in cap space, minus $8M in dead cap and that leaves $33M. A post June 1 cut saves the lions $10M in cap space, with would then give them a total of $43 million. They could wait until post June 1, which would give the lions an additional $6M. But I’m guessing they would do flowers right and cut him early. I assume Harris and Walker will get new contracts. Goff is for sure back for next year, then his dead cap starting is 2023 becomes much more manageable. But I’d assume he will be around for 22 and 23. Overall the lions are good shape with the cap this year and heading into 23. Let’s see what the FA signings look like, that will show what Holmes is trying to do. He could sign a speedy WR and LB and then head into the draft getting an edge rusher and another WR. Suddenly the lions are looking decent in hear 2 of the rebuild.

Didn’t matter who the coordinator was with this roster. Lynn was a fine choice. Will find a job easily next season. What Campbell showed was that he could learn pretty quickly and that he could do the job better himself. He learned that as the season went on so made the change. And it worked. He improved week after week. At this point he should continue to call plays next season. I’d rather he not hire another play caller. Just keep it. That’s my preference. Campbell’s growth had a exponential growth at the end of the season, where the lions finished 3-3 while beating two of the best teams in the NFC. And you didn’t even mention the monumental shift in culture. Team and fan buy-in in one season. C+ is PFF esque.

You to use the rams pick, or at the bare minimum, our 2nd rd pick on a receiver. I’d use both picks probably. Depends on what we do in free agency too.

Depends on how far they go in the playoffs. The further they go the worse the pick gets.

2nd overall pick. Overall, a good season. Lots of optimism and everyone across the league pumping campbells tires. Edge rusher and some wide receivers. Looks like one more year of Goff.
