  1. Risk and real baseball trades..player development seems to be going fine. Where are the trades if you don't want to spend on long term deals?
  2. I want them to spend on retaining their own guys. I'm not expecting any long term spending on outside free agents.
  3. This might be a bit harsh. But I think Harris cares more about development and process wins to much bigger degree than winning games next year. He wants to win. But he's not going to take on contractual risk to make the team better in 2025 just because of 'momentum' or the 'Skubal Window.' As a fan who cares about next year, it's a bit frustrating. But that's my way of reconciling things. We might take a step back because they have development losses and no contigency plans. But they don't want contigencies from older vets on bad contracts.
  4. Diamond Sports Group says it has "reached deals on amended telecast rights agreements with the Atlanta Braves, the Detroit Tigers, and the Tampa Bay Rays ... and with the Los Angeles Angels, the Miami Marlins, and the St. Louis Cardinals."
  5. https://espnpressroom.com/us/press-releases/2024/11/espn-to-exclusively-present-2025-mlb-opening-day-doubleheader-featuring-both-world-series-champion-los-angeles-dodgers-and-american-league-champion-new-york-yankees/
  6. Until proven otherwise, I don't believe that they are interested in any kind of contractual risk. I expect a medium sized right handed bat acquired via trade and a few starting pitchers on cost controlled deals. I don't think a Skubal window exists for them. It will be 80% about internal development.
  7. Get ready to learn Canadian, eh.
  8. Vogt would seem to be the favorite here.
  9. Good point. Either go full hog on the big guys or sign one and two year deals. On Bregman, I don't see them investing in a 30+ year old guy at the end of his prime.
  10. He would be a salary dump...33 years old and owed $10 million. It wouldn't be like Meadows who had multiple arb years: https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/player/_/id/21687/yandy-diaz
  11. It's up to Harris to figure out which young players/prospects can be moved to help fill more immediate needs. They're not all going to develop and they all can't play at the same time.
  12. Baez's problem is not the free swinging. His issue is not being to able to hit challenge fastballs in the zone. He will never have good command of the strike zone. When he was younger and had his athletic traits, he could still punish mistakes; Now he can't.
  13. They will give Baez a chance to prove he can get his hip rotation back. But when he doesn't, then that will be it. There's no more forcing him into the lineup as a player you can rely on. They'll give Maeda a shot to do something in spring training. I'm sure leash will be short if he's terrible.
