If you want to win next year, you can't go into the season needing Tork to be a core right handed bat. All he can be is a just a guy who has a chance to make the roster.
At first base/DH, there are always options who will give you a .750 OPS. If we're talking 3B, SS, and catcher, the options are limited. Tork is replaceable because he is just a hit tool who doesn't hit.
restating the obvious...you need multiple real right handed hitters next year if you want to compete. They have a gap in development between the current group and the Clark/McGonigle wave.
