  1. Jeimer with a 2 run homer at Worcester.
  2. A.J. Hinch on Riley Greene and expectations: “The weight of the world is not on his shoulders. We have a lot of guys that need to pick up the slack...If we expect him to be the sole reason for an offensive turnaround, that’s completely unfair to him.”
  3. Hinch is also a bit of an authoritarian. He doesn't allow his coaches to speak and offer their perspective. And I think he doesn't want Avila or Ilitch speaking much during the season either. I'm guessing that's part of the deal when he signed up. So his mealy mouthed excuses become redundant and tiring. But he's a placid/unemotional guy who looks at data. They've gone through the data and there's nothing to do. Guys have to hit...what he didn't realize is the organization doesn't have any viable replacements for horrific offensive performance. So they have to sit in it.
  4. Tigers have scored 0 or 1 run in 7 of the last 14 games.
  5. Soto will be a 7th inning guy for a playoff team and just dominate a post season...he is miscast as the last line of defense on an awful team.
  6. They only scored one run.
  7. An uninspiring and unwatchable product. They got 30,000 for a few games in the blue jays series. I imagine they won't get that many people in the park for like 4 combines games going forward.
  8. I'll take anyone who can a flyball beyond 300 feet.

  10. Is there an above average position player anywhere on this list? It's too early for the international kids. I'm not sure any of the guys at W Michigan or above projects to be above average.
  11. In the grand scheme of things, the Baez contract is not the biggest issue with Avila. It's all player development before 2021(before the overhaul). They claimed that a development machine was being built to produce young players that could seamlessly come in and contribute to the major league club. But all they did was tank and try to get high draft picks. From 2018-2021, I said that the biggest games in the organization were in the minors. We would see if they could produce players outisde of the top 10 draft picks. They didn't and we are stuck with the Castros, Reyes, and overcooked players like Grossman and Schoop as a core of a major league team. They clearly need more time to develop players. I don't want Al steering that ship and trying to extract value out of this terrible roster.

  14. They wanted good pr before the lockout. Objectively, the Baez and E-rod deals are reasonable value. But no chance they wanted to wait till after the new CBA when smart teams get good value.
  15. The Tigers wanted to get cost certainty before the lockout. That's why they got Baez. Before the lockout, Correa was asking for over $300 million and settled for peanuts afterwards. If you want to kill the Tigers for not reading how things would look after the lockout, that's fair.
  16. Akil Baddoo with a double.
  17. Greene with a single scoring Hill via a Woo-Sox error.
  18. Greene double, Kriedler walk, Candelario RBI double to left fielder/old friend Christin Stewart.
  19. I’m not in panic mode. This team is awful and the current gm created the issue. He has never built a winning org on his own and I see no evidence to let him try again.
  20. More Hinch: "This is unacceptable. We are better than this. We have not lived up to the standard that we expect. "We're all accountable -- players, coaches, manager, front office, everybody -- because it's been below par."
