  1. The dead ball could explain a bad offense(bottom 5) in the context of this season. But an offense averaging 2.75 runs/game(historically bad) indicates something else is happening. A couple of vets(Schoop/Grossman) are likely out of their prime and showing it. Candy seems to be in-between. He had a horrible start but his stats weren't normalizing to the last few years. And he is 28 so is he part of a contending team? The catchers are bad hitters and Tork is a rookie trying to adjust.
  2. I’m not criticizing hinch. He doesn’t have options within the organization to change half the lineup. He has to trust his process and hope things turn.
  3. He looked like a guy who doesn’t have any answers. I don’t really blame him. But they have another 100 games to play so he has to get something out of it.
  4. Kody Clemens is 0-17 in the majors. The spark plug.
  5. Grossman will be off the team by July 1st. He has no trade value with this production. And he is not part of the plans for next year. Time to start clearing the decks of useless veterans.
  6. The tigers play low event/boring baseball man.. they don’t even give us the three true outcomes.
  7. Apparently the super two cutoff was around June 10th-15th…in a lost season you can hide behind needing Greene to get in shape
  8. With tork, I’m trying to figure out the balance between lost confidence and letting him fix himself in the majors. he is not alone in having a terrible offensive year. But there has to be a point where he needs a break.
  9. Incremental improvement from Baez the last two days. But we haven’t seen these guys sustain it at all.
  10. Individual hitters like schoop and Baez string together a few good games. Then they revert back to horrendous approach and execution for a week. I guess the same applies to tork, meadows, grossman, and the catching black hole. You cant fire all the players at once.
  11. The Tigers are in the midst of a seven-game homer drought. Longest since 2001. An 8-game drought would be the longest streak since 1989 (10 games). -Hackosky
  12. Reyes isn’t a center fielder and meadows is a horrendous defender. Years into the rebuild victor reyes and Harold castro are pillars of our offense.
  13. Not a bad day…but he is facing a great offense and is probably pressing. He knows his offense gives him no chance if it’s over 3 runs.
  14. Skubal has to pitch almost perfect to give his hitters a chance.
  15. Yankees have hit 8 homers since 7:15 Eastern time last night. Tigers have daz Cameron’s homer 10 days ago.
  16. Ilitch booed moderately; Avila booed lustily during the Cabrera ceremony.
  17. Alexander could pitch Tuesday or he could get a few more outings in Toledo…no decision yet.
  18. No date set for Tigers LHP Eduardo Rodríguez's next start -- in big leagues or on rehab. A.J. Hinch said he may have an update in a day or two. No further details. -This sounds like he is away from the team for an off the field issue I think. cisnero- swollen Achilles’ tendon. Wont pitch for 2 weeks.
  19. The tigers should be in the same division as the blue jays.
  20. His post was about playing all the kids. Cisnero was not relevant to my comment.
  21. No question about it. Felt like someone jumped the gun on E-Rod today. Glad they are giving him another rehab start.
  22. If you want another 2019 or worse, that will work. It's pretty clear they don't have the young talent in the system to go all young. They still need vets to prop up the roster and make it moderately competitive. It's terrible business to just throw out all young guys. But they need to figure out who will be here next year and act accordingly.
  23. not great bob...hopefully not on the Mize path.
  24. We have 1(!!!) homer this month. They have 6 tonight lol.
