  1. Yankees and Angels have more than 60 homers...Tigers have 25. Tigers are 14th in OBP(AL), last in slugging, and last in homers. Cabrera is their best hitter....which is nice but really bad for the talent on roster.
  2. No the fact that some draft picks bust is part of the deal. The near future is still a disaster because they did nothing else(positional player development, sign free agents, value trades, international signings) while the tank was on. They took the cheapest and easiest route. Lose and sell your fans on draft picks...50% will fail and pitchers have an even higher attrition rate. The Castro/Cabrera pinch hitting debate from the Twins game was depressing more than anything.
  3. Terrific performance by Skubal.
  4. Trevor Story has hit 8 homers in the past 10 days...Javy Baez will get hot on July 15th.
  5. I thought Mize without the splitter would be a durable mid-range starter. Now that he's hurt and teetering towards TJ surgery, I have to wonder if he even be decent.

  7. Turns out Joel Zumaya doesn't just throw heat when he's on the mound, but he also brings it on social media. Zumaya — a beloved player during the Detroit Tigers' 2006 World Series run known for his 104 mph fastballs — didn't hold back on his Instagram and Facebook, lighting into the Tigers front office and specifically, general manager Al Avila. "Is there any other true Detroit Tiger Fan as disappointed as I am on how this season is going for the team!!!!," Zumaya's post begins. "WELL I JOEL ZUMAYA # 54 FORMER DETROIT TIGER, truly am disgusted, disappointed, just flat out upset on how this organization has let itself fall into a category which I thought this organization would never see again!!! I’m gonna say this straight out of my mouth, I can’t believe they gave Al Avila a undisclosed extension, blows my mind 🤯🤯🤯🤯." https://www.freep.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2022/05/25/detroit-tigers-joel-zumaya-gm-al-avila-rebuild/9927645002/
  8. He's 32 and this year is the end of his contract. He won't be part of a Tigers contending team. So you need to look at alternatives within the org...unfortunately player development takes 10-15 years.
  9. This game is a youtube(free) exclusive.
  10. Someone is responsible for the major league lineup being this awful 5+ years into a rebuild. Apparently that person isn't employed by the Tigers.
  11. Baez will get hot on July 1st right on time.
  12. Hinch has to give Grossman a few days off. I don't care that his replacments are worse. This is ridiculous.
  13. Don't look Story or Correa's numbers now :(.
  14. Oblique injury- Toledo IL
  15. last night was a normal loss....close game and the Twins got the late run. On the spectrum of terrible games this season, this one is on the lower end.
  16. Tork has started to make some hard contact; good step in his development.
  17. Eric Boesch
  18. Haase with two men on...70 mph weak fly ball, then Daz gets diced up on 3 pitches. They were relying on Haase for something this year...500 OPS from a guy who can't defend won't get you another year.
  19. you don't have to post every fleeting take.
  20. Lynn Henning takes on record interviews as gospel.
  21. No update from Tigers on Austin Meadows (vertigo), who remains at home in Florida and won't rejoin the team on this trip. "We're very concerned with what's going on with Austin," A.J. Hinch said. Baddoo on the toledo IL with an oblique injury.
  22. #Tigers have recalled RHP Elvin Rodriguez from Triple A Toledo, who is scheduled to start tomorrow in Minnesota. Additionally, LHP Eduardo Rodriguez has been placed on the 15-day IL (retroactive to May 19) with a left ribcage sprain.
