A lot of the online discourse is that Jobe needs to be called up becuase he isn't challenged in AA and possibly AAA. Then there are service time manipulation takes. I remember that they did bring up Verlander in late 2005 for spot starts. I wouldn't mind that for Jobe. But they probably aren't going to give him a regular turn.

I think the pitching injuries have given us the correct answer. If you need to use Maeda out of necessity, you are cooked.

He's org fodder IMO. But it seems like you can call him up if you need help for a week or two. Plus they have a need for right handed bats in platoon situations.

Pitching injuries have blunted my optimism from the past few weeks. But the overall energy and fight of the team has me more interested in each game. I’m still trading everyone not nailed down except for Skubal.

Pitching plan vs. Guardians: Tarik Skubal on Monday, bullpen game on Tuesday, Jack Flaherty on Wednesday, TBA on Thursday. The #Tigers haven't decided on the plan for Thursday's game, but Kenta Maeda would be lined up to start. Another option is two bullpen games in Cleveland

Jobe has to show that he can last a couple months in the minors without getting hurt again. He's also on an innings limit. I don't think you'll see him in the majors this year.

I have no problem with your vision here. But you can't build a team with that in mind. He can't be counted on as a core player for 2025.

Tork needs an offseason to totally reconstruct his swing. He's not part of any plans for me.

Another issue is that he set the bar so high on trades that he never made them(Matthew Boyd, etc). The ability to gin up a trade market and get good value is part of the job. Avila could not do it.

Which young players do you need to see post break to give you confidence for 2025? For me it's Meadows, Dingler, and Carpenter. I need Dingler to get MLB at-bats and for Meadows/Carpy to be healthy and productive.

You will probably not get equal value for Skubal...and odds are we aren't going to sign him. How about we just try to win in the next two years and see what happens?

Even with all of their injuries, the Dodgers still have Ohtani, Freeman, Smith, and a few other guys. You need to be good(Phillies) to beat them.

A.J. Hinch talked with Bruce Bochy yesterday about Tarik Skubal. They talked about Skubal's year, and Hinch made Skubal's case to start the ASG. "Given that he didn't pitch in Texas, I just wanted Boch to hear the perspective and sell our player as someone who's well deserving."
