Stew has way more shooting upside than Looney, but I hear ya on the toughness and offensive rebounding. I know they're listed as 6'8" and 6'9" but Looney just looks like he has more than 1" on Stew. My guess is Stew is closer to 6'7" or even 6'6" (like Grant Williams) and Looney is 6'9" and some change. Stew just gets outmatched on the glass compared to Looney, though I suppose we have no idea what Stew will look like on the boards years from now when he's Looney's age.

He turned them from an up and coming team that people want to root for into a laughing stock that people hate. Yeah, Ja helped with his off-court garbage, but Brooks took it to another level. Add that to the fact that the flashes of offense he showed occasionally last year have fizzled into nothing, and I'm not surprised they want to cut ties with that head case.

I'm fine with Wiseman as a backup Center (for now). Maybe he turns into your 3rd string if he can't figure it out, but he also has the athletic tools to be solid backup Center in the league if he improves - he's played less games than Duren, so there's time. Something else to ponder is how much of this goes on Casey. History has shown us that Casey didn't coach shot selection at all. Bey was traded because he was a ball hog who just wanted to chuck inefficient shots, but you gotta wonder how he went 2 years without a coach telling him what shots he should be taking. I doubt Casey told Wiseman to quit trying to post up on every possession. A real coach could solve that issue. Stew belongs at PF because he's bottom of the league at finishing in the paint on offense and also not a great defensive rebounder due to his size. Where he could be highly valuable is if he can learn to hit the three ball reliably during the regular season and play some small ball Center to match up with other teams in the playoffs. Grant Williams really is the best comparison for where Stew's game needs to go to become a valuable player on a contender.

He has Andre Drummond disease - no self awareness whatsoever. Kid thinks he should be a star and shoot on every play even though he's terrible at every type of shot.

The numbers on him are crazy. Top of the league in post touches, which he demands on every play. Bottom of the league in point per possession in the post. I truly hope they were just testing some things out and trying to lose games. Duren should be the starting Center alongside a versatile PF who can spread the court and defend (that person isn't on the team right now). Stew can be the backup Grant Williams type of player if he continues to develop. Let Wiseman be the backup Center this year and see how he develops. Find a vet who doesn't require playing time to be your 3rd Center and move Bagley..

They were definitely some good games last night! Not the outcomes I wanted, but fun to watch.

You just sounded like you were pretty down on the entertainment value and that there was no point in watching series you felt were "foregone conclusions." Sorry if I misinterpreted that. I simply feel like these have been some of the most exciting playoffs in recent memory and I'm hearing a lot of media people saying the same thing.

Yeah, when I heard that news I was pretty shocked as well. Not shocked they wouldn't bring him back, just shocked at the way it was stated. I've never heard something like that before.

I'm clearly not going to convince someone this salty, but yeah, most people would say that they were upsets. If the higher seed won you could have been just as cynical and said, "but they were the higher seed, so everyone expected them to win." It's easy to make a destructive argument, the internet is full of people doing that all day. But If you've been watching this year's playoffs you've seen some absolutely amazing basketball, last second finishes, and tremendous individual and team performances. If not, that's cool too, I can't tell you what to like. I've been having a blast though.

Couple of really good games tonight again. Nice to see KCP coming up clutch in that Denver game. Harden had a throwback game and Boston looked like they just expected to win. Their defense didn’t show up all game.

The NBA is well aware of that, based upon how some of those games were refereed in the last round.

Sadly, I now have to root for GS (which wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for Draymond), because I can't root for LA. Ultimately hoping for Denver to cruise through the West and eliminate all the teams I'm rooting against. Miami just won't go away. Let's see how bad Butler's injury is, but they took it to NYK yesterday in "the mecca of basketball". The seeds remaining in the playoffs are 1-8 with no repeats. Not sure if that's ever happened before in the playoffs. Also, more upsets than ever in the first round. Who said there's no drama in the NBA playoffs?

Refs thought they were helping the Warriors by keeping Sabonis on the bench with fouls. Wrong. Game 7 incoming.

Everyone talks about Cleveland as one of the blueprints for the Piston's desire to go with a 2-big lineup, but that strategy killed Mitchell and Garland in the playoffs because they had absolutely no spacing. Watching them try to get to the bucket against a collapsed NYK defense was painful. Neither of their bigs nor Okoro are respected on the perimeter so the Knicks were free to just live in the paint on defense and cut off all driving lanes. Same thing will happen to Cade and Ivey next year if Weaver is married to this 2-big idea. Watching Ivey try to find space in the lane when we were starting Bagley and Wiseman was so painful.

To be fair, losing Herro probably improved their defense by a good margin.

I've heard that these are the leaders of the pack from the second-tier interviews they did, but that they are considering/doing another first-tier round of interviews as well. After that comes the in-person interview round. Then again, JEIII kept saying "finalists" before correcting himself to "frontrunners". So, all the rest may just be smoke and these may truly be the finalists. Quinn was my first pick, but it doesn't sound like he's in the mix. I was leaning towards Lee after that, but I'm not a huge fan of the Bud coaching tree, so I may be leaning more towards Collins now since he was the defensive coordinator for GS during those championship years when they were always a top 5 defense in the league. <-- nope, I was wrong, it was in 2019 and 2020. Also because I'd love to see some ball and people movement in our offense like GS. The Bucks take turns going one-on-one and just have one of the best one-on-one players in the league. Don't really love the coach Bud offense.

My guess is Chris Quinn is next on the list, so I doubt he leaves Miami.

Brooks is Westbrook level dumb. Terrible shooter with no qualms about taking threes with 16 left on the shot clock. Just throwing away possessions like Drummond in the post.
