  1. I saw before the game that the Pistons were 9.5 point favorites on the road and couldn't believe my eyes but then I saw the Nets lineup and understood why, that's a glorified G-League lineup. In any event, the Pistons took care of business which is a good sign of growth. 19-18 is crazy especially after the 0-4 start, 19-14 in their last 33 considering the last 4 seasons is surreal. Most were predicting 30 wins as a good season and a good step forward, 40 now seems realistic. Amazing what competent coaching and a few solid vets could do for a young group. What Weaver and Monty did should be considered executive and coaching malpractice.
  2. Hutch PROBABLY gets a new contract? He's getting extended long term the moment there's an opportunity to do so. He had a clean break, his long term prognosis isn't being effected at all by this injury. He'll get the big ticket contract and well deserved. The immediate priorities are Davis, Zeitler, Barnes, Levi, Iffy and whether or not they want to extend Kerby because he's likely going to be the highest paid safety in the league and the question is do you want to pay two safties (when Branch is due) top of the market money? Tough decision. I think eventually, they're going to have to choose between Jamo or Kerby. Out of the UFA's.... I gotta run so I'll finish this later
  3. I fully believe that Hutch is done for the season and it's just a lot of wishful thinking. It just seems rushed and I don't think he'll play unless he's 100%, coach won't allow it.
  4. He made a bunch of those yesterday but the one to Jamo on 4th down was an incredible throw under immense pressure. Goff had a few jittery moments but he made some deadly accurate throws under pressure that few can make, a few to LaPorta and St. Brown in the second half in particular and the Vikings were bringing a lot of heat. This game was a story of 2 QBs, one couldn't handle the pressure while the other could. Both defenses brought a lot of pressure.
  5. A lot of that was due to the pressure the Lions put in his face early and often. They never let him get comfortable and he got rattled seeing ghosts and missed some easy throws as a result.
  6. The Lions are better than some people thought, people that didn't have faith in this group that was within a Reynolds drop essentially of a Superbowl last year and 14-2 with one of the biggest point differentials in league history. People say that Darnold choked. No, it was AG and crew that made it tough on him and rattled him. This was more about the Lions winning than the Vikings losing.
  7. SOL is a thing of the distant past. Seems like some fans @Mr.TaterSalad included that had a little SOL PTSD thinking the Vikings were going to win this game. Dan Campbell's Lions won't have any of that.
  8. Nothing should be scary for the Lions, at least in the NFC. The games will all be tough but the AFC opponents are the scary ones.
  9. As I've always said, this Lions team is built different. I had full confidence that they'd win this game. The Terrion injury is troublesome going forward but AG seems to have a plan to cover for his loss. Anzalone is way more important to the defense than some people realize, he was massive tonight
  10. Ant had the points but should be All Star Cade had the much better overall game. This team is fun to watch, now lets go beat that other Minnesota team tomorrow night.
  11. Not just Goff but Sewell, Ragnow, Decker, Zeitler, Glasgow, Montgomery, Gibbs, St. Brown, Jamo, Patrick, LaPorta etc. The Lions are loaded with talent and guys who live and breathe football. Even on defense when healthy they're loaded with talent and, the same, guys that are all about football and buy in. Hell, they even have an elite kicker now. Any reasonable football mind would do big things with all that talent so while there may be a small hit with Ben and AG leaving as they adjust schemes with them gone, I don't see it derailing this team at all.
  12. I'm not worried about losing either coordinator tbh. This is arguably the best roster in the league led by one of the best coaches in terms of leaders and football smarts in the league. This isn't a roster that's propped up by their coordinators in the least so I'm sure Brad and Dan have a proper succession plan in place. With Brad continuing to piece together the roster and Dan coaching it, I truly believe they can plug anybody remotely competent into the coordinator roles and this team won't miss a beat. The biggest inhibitor to long long term success is the salary cap and not enough cap to keep all the players but with the way the Lions draft I'm not too worried about that either. This is trending to be a Steelers/Ravens type of franchise with stability and years/decades of success ahead as long as Brad and Dan are steering the ship funded by Sheila and led by Spielman.
  13. Yeah, I'm hoping it's a clean break as opposed to a torn achilles or something which could have way longer than this season effects or be career altering. I have no idea what the Pistons can do now. Ivey was one of two players that couldn't afford to lose and with such a huge talent deficiency as is I don't see how this doesn't sink their season.
  14. That's more a testament to the ridiculously great seasons Allen, Jackson and Barkley are having than Goff being overlooked. Add in the underrated Baker Mayfield to the top 5 with Darnold getting an HM and this is one of the strongest MVP races we've seen in a long time.
  15. Man, you just know the media is going to run with the Vikings are the better team narrative this week and Dan Campbell wouldn't have it any other way.
  16. Probably the Bucs players too at the likely outcome they're the ones facing the Lions in the 1st round.
  17. They should be embarrassed and so should Glenn. This isn't just a personnel issue, guys look utterly confused. Shanahan is taking AG to the cleaners.
  18. How can anybody have any confidence in this team with this defense? They're bringing a knife to a gunfight with this defense against playoff offenses. Could be a one and done team very easily if the offense isn't picture perfect.
  19. Yep, I said the same earlier in the thread but that's not how Dan Campbell does things, he's full throttle all the time. Personally I think it's reckless to bring that mentality into tonight so I'll be cringing with every starter that looks like he might be injured and there will be a few because it's NFL football and it's a violent sport. Hopefully it's not a serious enough injury to derail their SB hopes, for the sake of going all out to win a relatively meaningless game.
  20. I'm saying to only rest some guys especially on defense. I'd rest Za'Darius Smith and Arnold to name two, the depth is just way too paper thin at those positions.
  21. There's no reason for them to do that IMO. Why? As I said before, treat it like a second bye week especially for the guys that are a bit banged up.
  22. So since the Niners game is meaningless I'd be resting some guys. They should treat it like a second bye week. The Lions depth is already thin as is on defense so it would be foolish to play everybody.
  23. I just think they need to make it work. He's young enough to be a key part of this team for the next few years.
  24. What a wild finish, biggest win in a long time. I think they need to re-sign Beasley, he fits like a glove here.
