  1. The Lions are playing at a historically high level, this is '07 Pats level dominance with lots of key injuries on the defensive side. The Lions were the worst franchise in the league just 3 years ago, it's insane the turnaround these guys have engineered in such a short timespan relatively speaking.
  2. Here the Lions are on a 9 game winning streak having one of the best seasons in NFL history thus far yet are fighting tooth and nail for the division. Like, come on bro can somebody beat these freaking Vikings and Packers besides the Lions? The Lions are clearly the best team of the group and control their destiny but it would be nice to get at least a little breathing room.
  3. 100%, been saying this for a few years. He's a better free throw shooting Drummond, has the same low IQ and low motor that Andre had. Hopefully Cade isn't too hurt, I think we start to see the Pistons spiral a bit. They had likely their last opportunity of the season to hit .500 against the Bulls at home and got spanked. They're clearly a better team this season and we're seeing some growth but now that the easy schedule is largely behind them there could be some rough times ahead.
  4. Agreed, could be like the Patrick signing, a guy that fell out of favor with his previous team but has a history of being a good player in the league. Put him in this system and he could thrive, still fairly young too.
  5. Yeah, Iffy played in the box a lot last season and was the blitzing safety so there was the possibility of him maybe playing an OLB role, he was great on the blitz last season, so it's a bit of a loss. Hopefully Long can somewhat fill this role, he's been a good player in this league albeit more of a run defender than pass rusher.
  6. Yeah, don't know why Bickerstaff changed a winning formula. With that said, I think the biggest factor was the schedule. 5 games in 7 days, second of a back to back travelling from Washington to Detroit. Team looked to be lacking some juice especially defensively. Would like to see Ausar get back in the lineup, get some fresh legs in there.
  7. Up 2 games when looking at the current standings. The only reason why I think Minnesota is a threat is because they have a bit of an easier schedule and that defense with those offensive weapons at receiver are dangerous. The Lions are clearly the better team but the Vikings are still a threat to hang around the race. I think it'll be really tough for the Packers to catch the Lions.
  8. It's easier than the other division contenders. The Falcons and Cardinals are decent teams but they're really in that mediocre pile and they have both at home with the Bears as bookends until the tougher finishing kick. They won't be easy per se but easier than the Lions schedule, for instance, with the Packers and Bills in that 4 game stretch which is why I think they'll hang around for a while.
  9. I'd be really surprised if the Vikings go 3-4 down the stretch with that schedule even if Darnold turns into a pumpkin. I think they'll hang in the division race for a while.
  10. The Lions are essentially two games up on the Vikings and Packers with both of them coming to Detroit later in the season, they're hugely in the drivers seat in division so the Eagles are really the only main competition unless the Lions unravel a bit. The one caveat is that the Vikings have a fairly soft schedule (lots of home games remaining) so they're likely to stay in the race for the remainder of the season.
  11. The Pistons are better with Reed than Duren. Reed plays a smart, simple game that meshes better with the guards. Duren is more explosive but he's way too volatile with his play and is constantly out of position, he's still pretty young but we're getting to he is what he is territory with him. Lots of tools but not much of a toolbox.
  12. Pistons are watchable again and might be kinda good although too early to declare that but at least we're seeing growth finally at the very least. Kind of surreal haha Also, Beasley is a steal at that contract. He can play and isn't as bad a defender as some tabbed him to be.
  13. Yep, that's what I take from this. They're exciting and they're making progress (hard not to make progress from rock bottom), that's all we can ask for right now. If they make a play-in that's a bonus. Regardless, Holland has to make one free throw there rookie or not and Cade, again, has to be better down the stretch.
  14. Monty would have had Killian in the game throwing that pass. He should have been sued by the organization for coaching malpractice and stealing money.
  15. You take the win of course but yet another collapse in the clutch. This game shouldn't have been close but the Pistons can't help but fumble away leads and make things tough on themselves. Again, Cade....what is it with him and 4th quarters? This guy was clutch in his rookie season and ever since then he continuously clams up in the clutch. Can he learn from this or is this just who he is?
  16. This team is way more mature than that team at that point in the season and, quite frankly, Baltimore is capable of running through any team at any point. The Lions were just learning how to be "the hunted" at that time so I don't see this team not being able to handle success. I guess I just don't believe in the idea that a team needs losses, especially this team, going into the playoffs to maintain focus. And yes, it's 16-1 not 15-1, still getting used to this silly 17 game format that is ruining all previous record books but I digress. That's why I scoff at these new season high records. Well yeah, there's one game tacked on now so of course a bunch of records will be broken now. Ok, I guess I didn't digress haha
  17. Not a Dan Campbell led team. There is no worry about this team reading their own press clippings, not under this coach, so I wouldn't be concerned if they swept the rest of the games and went 15-1 but I'd be shocked if they did, they'll lose a few by the end of the season and I bet one is to the Bears because the Bears know exactly the defensive elixir to use against the Lions year after year.
  18. Knee jerk reactions are fine complaining about coaches in game etc. but to say SOL about THIS team that has been an elite team for 1.5+ seasons is purely idiotic.
  19. Lol at this idiotic post, the SOL part in particular
  20. Tobias was actually quite good in this game at both ends of the court missed free throw notwithstanding.
  21. Ivey ruined this game for me with that hero ball garbage down the stretch, killing like 3-4 possessions. Bickerstaff shouldn't have had him in the game at all tbh because he was clearly not feeling it. Cade is quietly putting together a monster season. He's still not assertive enough in the 4th for my liking but his numbers across the board show clear growth in his game.
  22. This team is unbelievable. That's all I've got to say, this was the type of win that Championship teams pull out and only championship level teams.
  23. Cade had 2 career triple doubles before having 3 in a row in the last 3. He has had some very real 4th quarter scoring issues but that's hugely impressive and is indicative of some real growth in his game, has also cut down on the turnovers in the last few games as well. Team is still a ways off but I think we're FINALLY starting to see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.
  24. The Lions are going to be loaded in the secondary for the playoff run with Moseley and Iffy returning, assuming they don't get injured again in the next 3 weeks which is a big assumption with those two. Davis, Arnold, Robertson, Rakestraw, Moseley, Branch, Joseph, Iffy, even B. Joseph, Dorsey Vildor are decent depth that far back into the depth chart. I'd be hard pressed to find a deeper secondary in the league, Holmes is a freaking magician with what he's done with this group in 2 years really.
  25. Agreed, Stewart not being out there is mind boggling. No reason for Harris to be out there although Beasley was the goat on the last play.
