  1. Did you ever get the feeling that the players are purposely not giving 100% because they are trying to get the manager fired?
  2. Do we still like the Baez signing? Barnhart? Rodriguez? Baddoo? If Avila hasn't made any bad moves in 2 years, why do so many people want him fired?
  3. The ones that people are currently blaming Avila for.
  4. The Tigers just need to win one of the their next two games to have a better record than their horrible start from last year. And then win 9 of their next 11 to keep pace.
  5. They didn't have to replace Baddoo on the roster with a relief pitcher. I don't know who's decision that was, but it was the wrong one.
  6. Tigers aren't even threatening anymore.
  7. Never mind, Hinch is better than I thought he was.
  8. Do you remember when our keystone combo were Gordon Beckham and Jordy Mercer?
  9. He's also already on the 40-man roster, so they wouldn't have to expose anyone to waivers.
  10. Don't worry. I question Hinch's decisions all the time.
  11. From May 8 on, the Tigers went 68-61 last year.
  12. If they don't improve, can we then blame Hinch?
  13. Cincinnati has a team ERA of 6.90.
  14. But then we wouldn't have Mize and Manning in our rotation.
  15. It sucks that we are still rebuilding.
  16. Should have pinch ran for Miggy. Should have pinch hit for Schoop. Should not have pitched Hutchison in the 7th. Hindsight is 20/20. Hinch is a great manager.
  17. It looks very doubtful that the Tigers are going to play today due to the rain.
  18. There's some evidence that the Tigers bullpen is over-performing. The BABIP is only .244 (26th) and their LOB% is 79.1% (4th). These are usually luck-based stats that are normally near league average by the end of the year (these numbers would be ranked 30th and 1st last year). Their strikeout rate is 22.6%, which is below league average. The main reason their ERA is so low is that they have only allowed 3 home runs all year, the lowest in baseball. Meanwhile, they have a 41..6% fly ball rate, 5th highest in baseball. They can't continue to allow that many fly balls with so little home runs. Their xFIP is 3.91, almost 2 runs worse than their ERA of 1.97. Are they better than last year? So far, yes. But my bet is that they will be near league average by the end of the season.
  19. Harold Castro can't play 3B. but that doesn't stop Hinch from playing him there.
  20. Tubi shows old MLB games. https://tubitv.com/live/613765/mlb Not sure if you can watch any of them on demand.
  21. There's also the possibility that Grossman has to go on the IL, so they'll only have to send one down.
