So they moved up from a future late 20 pick to pick 13 for about 14 million (that they HAD to spend anyway)..... I'll take that.

Looks like Pistons might get back into this thing....... https://www.detroitbadboys.com/2022/6/23/23180781/nba-draft-trade-rumors-detroit-pistons-gordon-hayward-charlotte-hornets-jalen-duren

What can they offer?

If you had to choose between Ayton and Duren (regardless of the money situation), which would you choose? Because in all likelihood, I think thats what it'd come down to......
-
Sounds like you take the upside in Jaden Ivey and sign a hold player or take on a huge contract to get another pick to fill the spot a little later in the draft.

You forgot "Man". "Man, you ready to be a Lion Man? Man you're a big part of our future man!" lol. But yea, I gotchu. I give you a like for that one cuz its spot on!

There is a reason he's going to command a lot of money right? He's gotta add something to the table I'd assume........ (I don't know jack about the NBA but most of time big guys that get paid I'm assuming do something semi-well....)

Lions Draft Grades and After Draft Talk/What's Next?
AlaskanTigersFan replied to AlaskanTigersFan's topic in Detroit Lions
I really don't know why so many people have given up on Okudah or call him a bust. The dudes played like 4 games. If he comes back healthy, won't he be the #1 corner that we need? That'd be a HUGE solve. It looks like he's already running full speed so I am very confident he can be "the guy" that we drafted at #3...... -
Lions Draft Grades and After Draft Talk/What's Next?

What do you think the Lions needs are still for playoffs (or if you want to be drastic; for the long haul) if you don't mind me asking besides Linebacker? Or is that it? -
Lions Draft Grades and After Draft Talk/What's Next?
AlaskanTigersFan replied to AlaskanTigersFan's topic in Detroit Lions
I don't think we're in a position to do that. Do you? From my understanding, our team is actually pretty decent but we could still use some 1st round love in a few places. Offense OL - All Set basically TE - All set (might need a depth piece) WR - All set now (MIght need 1st round love to top it off) QB - (we'll see. Maybe this is 1st round love territory) Defense DLine - All set now with Hutch and Paschel Linebackers - Weakest spot on team but maybe Rodriguez will surprise (Probably need 1st round love) CB - All Set Safety - Good starter but no depth (Probably need 1st round love) Special Teams is supposed to be really good. Kicker we can use some love but I think we'll sign Nordin. I'm not quite sure we are just 1 player away from being a complete team. Is this a good assessment as to where we're at? -
Lions Draft Grades and After Draft Talk/What's Next?
AlaskanTigersFan replied to AlaskanTigersFan's topic in Detroit Lions
I hate to beat a dead horse. But could the Lions actually out play themselves out of a better QB next year? Almost everyone has the lions going 7-10 next year (including this one). That would put them around pick 8-10 ish? They aren't going to get CJ Stroud or Bryce Young unless they pay a TON to move up..... How good will the Lions actually be next year? I think more an more we might be with Goff for another 3-4 years if not longer...... -

2022 DETROIT TIGERS REGULAR SEASON THREAD
AlaskanTigersFan replied to chasfh's topic in Detroit Tigers
Baez will be fine. We picked up Barnhart for essentially nothing. Rodriguez isn't a bonafide Ace like everyone hailed him to be but he is a decent #2/#3 starter. He'll work it out. Baddoo had a career year last year. I still believe that. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am on that......- 3,276 replies

2022 DETROIT TIGERS REGULAR SEASON THREAD
AlaskanTigersFan replied to chasfh's topic in Detroit Tigers
Yes. I still think there's more too it. His Barrel % and Hard hit rates are above league average. His BABIP is .225. I think there's some more to it. But yes, I'll eat crow if he's not gonna live up to expectations. I still think he can be a solid contributor batting close to .290/.350/.475 type line. I'll take that with average defense which I think he can do. Just a hunch though. I like him, Gage Workman, and Colt Keith quite a bit. Hopefully some of them pan out. But we won't know for a while. Keep your eye on Cabrera though. I don't think he's "done" just yet.....- 3,276 replies

2022 DETROIT TIGERS REGULAR SEASON THREAD
AlaskanTigersFan replied to chasfh's topic in Detroit Tigers
This is the one time I wish I was dead wrong. Now, having said that, I think Next year will be a lot brighter. We aren't barren by any means. Baez Torkelson (he'll be fine) Greene Daniel Cabrera D. Dingler Thats going to be a pretty solid core. I have faith in all of those guys. We might be able to add Grossman to that. Everyone else IMO isn't MLB quality. I really hope people don't lose faith in Tork. Plenty of people have failed at the MLB level in their first call up. He will be just fine. Kreidler might be able to be added on that list. But I'm not nearly sold on his hitting ability for some reason.... I'd bank that Daniel Cabrera will be better than Kreidler. Candy isn't a Division 1 Starter but he is a Division 2 type guy. I think the Tigers are going to have to deal some arms for some hitting prospects. Only two more years of Cabrera's contract too. So we will have some room to make waves in FA next off season as well.......- 3,276 replies

2022 DETROIT TIGERS REGULAR SEASON THREAD
AlaskanTigersFan replied to chasfh's topic in Detroit Tigers
I hate to say "I told you so" to this forum, but I said it for the last three months that this is one of the worst lineups in the AL if not all of baseball. This really isn't surprising and the true colors of our hitters are showing.......... We are no where near the finished product of this rebuild. I continue to hope I'm wrong, but so far I've unfortunately been pretty spot on.....- 3,276 replies

Red Wings looking for a Head Coach
AlaskanTigersFan replied to Motor City Sonics's topic in Detroit Red Wings
Roger Rönnberg, head coach, Frölunda (SHL) gets my vote. -
Yep. I used to work at Montverde. Very good basketball program and also soccer too. Their soccer team would play professional teams and national all-star teams all the time. Francisco Lindor graduated from there as well. Very cool young man. I know RJ Barrett very well. The next big name to come out of MVA will be Dariq Whitehead. He's going to Duke next year. He will be a top 2 pick in the NBA. You will not find a finer kid in the world than Dariq. If you're talking about character, he's on a whole nother level from Diangelo Russel, Ben Simmons, and even RJ and Cade. Cade is a good guy and Dariq sang his praises the last few years saying he's the man. But Dariq will be the MVA alumni that I will be rooting for most. I would give anything to see the Pistons get him but I don't think they'll be in the lottery when he's draft eligible. He and my daughter are best buds and it just goes to show how cool of a young man he really is (my daughters 8 years old and she considers him to be her best bud 😋). I can't say enough good things about Dariq.

Trading Dylan Larkin? Is it insane? Or..........
AlaskanTigersFan replied to AlaskanTigersFan's topic in Detroit Red Wings
Do you think they could get a top 5 or top 10 prospect plus two first rounders for him? Or is that too steep a price? I legit don't know how good he really is considering all the other players in the NHL. I just know he's our golden boy..... -
Question. I will be the first to admit, I know jack squat about the Red Wings in general. So bear with me. As I'm reading up on them though, it looks like the Red Wings are still 2-3 years away from being really in contention of playoffs. Would trading Larkin now before his big contract for a top 5 prospect and lets say 2 first rounders be worth it for the Red Wings (a lot of people were shocked when Mantha was traded, so there is a precedent of Yzerman trading good players in their prime [albeit not one as glorified as Larkin])? Is there a team that would do that that you could think of? What would Larkin's value be? (Here's a link to some of the top prospects I was just looking at). I'm just thinking if they cash in now and get a decent player on a rookie contract plus some extra high end draft capital, wouldn't that be worth it? Or is it just better to sit tight with him and play it out paying him big money? Would they wait and talk to a new coach before making a decision on this? Just curious on thoughts. Thanks.

2022 DETROIT TIGERS REGULAR SEASON THREAD
AlaskanTigersFan replied to chasfh's topic in Detroit Tigers
I don't mean to be a naysayer, but I preached this all off-season. The Tigers will have one of the worst lineups this year in the AL if not all of Baseball. We'll get one more high pick next year. But we will be in a pretty good place next year going forward. I love these boys, but this was predictable and forseeable. Let Tork get his lumps in and let Greene as well when he's ready. Next year we will have those two in a lot better place, Baez will be ok, and Dingler should be up as well. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ If I really want to go crazy (I probably should of ended my message above), I think these guys will have a good core next year though after Greene and Tork get their "experience year". They won't be competing for MVP's but they could be competing for above average spots though. Greene Tork Baez Dingler Meadows That is a good start right there. Schoop and Candy might be able to fill in there as well but I'm guessing we'll add another FA hitter. That should give us at least 5 above regular hitters (not including Meadows here unless he shows us something). Dingler profiles to be above average hitter too. I could see him being a top 10 Catcher in terms of hitting when he finally gets here as most hitters are hitting for dog crap right now. But at least that's a start. Much better than we have now 😕.- 3,276 replies
