  1. Just curious, (not just you but anyone). Lets say a hypothetical situation, where our team was the Orioles current players but we had the Tigers Farm system. Would you trade your top 4 prospects (Clark, McGonigle, Jung, Jobe) to get to the World Series This year if your team was stacked? I'm truly curious on the responses to that question.
  2. Tigers are focusing pitching and SS prospects. Good mix of HS and College so far.
  3. Wouldn't it be cool to announce a trade during an All-Star Game. Can you imagine an Orioles player coming up to Skubal and giving him a Jersey and saying, "Welcome to the team!" Admit it, that'd be dope..... I wonder if that's ever happened. Good trivia. Doubt it but it'd be cool if it did.
  4. I've said it once, and I'll say it again Skubal for Cowser/Kjersted (Don't care which one) Mayo Basallo Povich/McDermit (Don't care which one) Plus one other Norby (I like most but this is probably too much) You Do it! Get'er done Scott.
  5. If 3 of these guys actually make it long term (including Greene) we are doing good.... I would love for them all to hit but realistically its highly doubtful...
  6. Excellent! When's the last time Tigers drafted a SS in the first round? Great pick. Lets hope he pans out.
  7. Not at all. Quite the contrary. I'm just pointing out that Skubal has more value being traded right now than in our rotation next year.....
  8. Easier to sign a starter than it is to fill 4-5 position players.......
  9. This is great and all..... Whose on 1st? Whose in LF, CF and C? (assuming Keith 3B, Jung 2B And Baez SS)........
  10. Keep it simple. Look at it this way. In 5 years if we don't do anything, it looks like this: C - ?? 1B - Tork (?) 2B - Jung SS - (McGonigle) 3B - Keith LF - Carpenter(?) (Malloy?) CF - Clark RF - Greene SP 1 - Skubal SP 2- Jobe SP 3- Olsen SP 4 - Mize (?) SP 5 - ??? So you're banking on Tork, Jung, McGonigle, Malloy, Clark all hitting (pun intended)....... There's not much beyond that. I'm still not sold on Carpenter. The only true first division regulars we have on our roster is Greene and Skubal. Maybe you can throw Olsen in there but even then he's realistically a #4 starter on a good staff..... We need more depth..... If we don't keep stocking up we will literally just sputter our wheels. I love rookies probably more than anyone. But to hope that essentially 7 of our fielders will all pan out as rookies.......... That's probably not happening folks. I am pretty sure Flaherty's a gonner. Hopefully we can get a prospect back in the 20-40 range and a toss in prospect for him. If Skubal gets traded, your looking at at least two top 20 prospects (if not 3) plus another B level or two prospects..... Now's the time to trade him. Skubal to the Orioles wins them the WS this year (on paper) and should net us 2-3 prospects on Clark's level..... There's 0 Reason to keep Skubal of the O's come calling with a good offer.
  11. So the NYR are trying to mend fences with Trouba now. Did he block a trade to us? Otherwise, perhaps his price just plummeted? I'd be down for getting a heavy hitter..... https://www.motownredwings.com/2024/07/11/nhl-rumors-maple-leafs-red-wings-ducks-rangers/
  12. Time clock. A lot of teams that are calling up these young prospects are very competitive (barring Pitsburg with Skenes). But a lot of the other prospects help their team win now and will push for playoffs. Tigers aren't close to being competitive but they need their position players to get their feet wet, ala Malloy, and Keith.... No need to start Jobes clock.
  13. Yea, I forgot how screwed he got in the lottery the last few years......
  14. Lets say they pull that off..... Heck lets say they make it in to the playoffs... Name one for sure playoff team they can beat? Orioles? Nope. Yankees? Nope. LA Dodgers? Nope.... There's no point in being buyers. At this point its just wasting prospect capital. Time to sell until we have a realistic chance of doing anything......
  15. Seems pretty good. The tigers should get a good pick. There are 10 players that have separated themselves as the top true top 10. So if any slip, the Tigers should jump all over that. If none slip, the Tigers could go prep pitcher Cam Caminiti. I hope they go position player myself, but there's a lot of buzz here for Cam the top HS LHP. https://www.freep.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2024/07/09/2024-mlb-mock-draft-roundup-options-for-detroit-tigers-at-pick-11/74332042007/ A perfect world, Nick Kurtz or Bryce Rainer fall to us. We are only a few days away.
  16. I saw that article about the top 5 most overrated GM's and seeing Yzerman on there is kind of dissapointing.... The guy had to rebuild the entire franchise with barely anything. He's finally (from my understanding) has a decent team and a great pipeline of talent to infuse into the lineups the next few years...... I would think that'd be exactly what you want from a GM that took over with literally nothing... What am I missing? I get he hasn't made the playoffs, but he's set us up for success next year and multiple years after no?
  17. That's just nuts.....
  18. https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/10127653-way-too-early-top-10-rankings-for-the-2025-nhl-draft.amp.html - Looks exciting!
  19. Skubal for Cowser/Kjerstad (either one) Basallo Mayo McDermott/Povich (either one) I'd do that deal in a heartbeat. Oh what a fun exercise 🙂

  21. Cooper's brother is pretty good too. He's down here at Montverde now as well.....
  22. Whats wrong with asking them for two firsts or a first and another player? I'm assuming we have some sort of dead weight we can also kick back to back to even balance it further if need be to get two first rounders out of the deal...
  23. Looks like it's going to be a deep one. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5519093/2024/07/01/nhl-draft-2025-prospects-ranking-hagens-first-round-predictions/ https://www.flohockey.tv/articles/12690457-nhl-draft-2025-way-too-early-top-10-prospect-list-led-by-james-hagens
  24. The race for Cooper Flagg is on.... (Or is it?) Seems much deeper. Two super high end prospects and multiple good players. Cooper isn't a lock as of now to go 1-1. Interesting. https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/early-2025-nba-mock-draft-cooper-flagg-carries-zion-like-hype-but-he-faces-big-battle-to-go-no-1-overall/ https://nbadraftroom.com/2025-nba-mock-draft/
