Red Wings 2024 Off-Season Thread
AlaskanTigersFan replied to Mr.TaterSalad's topic in Detroit Red Wings
https://www.motownredwings.com/2024/06/16/hurricanes-mock-trade-necas-to-red-wings-for-berggren-more/ So looking at this and multiple other articles, why do the Wings sour on Berggren so much? This article paints him as a stud.... Why would we deal someone like this if this is an are of need? -

Isn't Cossa 2-3 years away realistically? -

So someone once posted a graph that shows the results of NHL players being drafted by rounds that make it to the NHL. It was something rediculously stupid that like 90% of all players that make it to the NHL are 1st and 2nd rounders. Why wouldn't Steve just offer their 1st this year, 2nd next and Cossa for the best Goalie in the league? It'd be overpay but it'd serve the price and that goalie should last until Augustine is ready anyway right? Seems like draft picks are kind of useless if they aren't a 1st or 2nd rounder for the most part.......... -
Ok, just curious. Like I mentioned in another thread, I don't know jack about NHL.. But when it comes to baseball, I'm pretty in tune I think. So applying the same logic of trading prospects for an established player....... If we wanted a good true #1 goalie lets say Andrei Vasilevskiy, what would we have to give up in terms of prospect value? Using NHL.com's prospect list (and thehockeywriters.com), what would it cost for him???.... 1. Simon Edvinsson 2. Marco Kasper 3. Nate Danielson 4. Axel Sandin Pellikka 5. Carter Mazur 6. Albert Johannson 7. Cossa 8. Wallinder 9. Dmitry Buchelnikov 10. Amadeus Lombardi Would Edvinsson and Carter Mazur and Cossa be enough? Or would it cost more or less (is there a combination of our top 10 that would be enough)? Just trying to gauge value. Thanks.

I know jack about hockey. But I do look like a genius right now......

Pistons to hire Trajan Langdon as POBO
AlaskanTigersFan replied to Deleterious's topic in Detroit Pistons
Just curious. But Monty had a crap roster, and 3/4 of the guys were injured for 3/4 of the season. We all praised the hiring 12 months ago, now most people have pitchforks out for him...... How in the world did everyone turn on him so fast? 12 months ago he was best coach in league. I think he had a bum roster. If they fire monty, they are dumber than a box of bricks. That'd be like Mahomes and Kelce getting hurt for the Cheifs and they go 7-9 and they want to fire Andy Reid....... Makes no sense. Give Monty another season and see what he can do with a legit NBA roster....... If they fire him, they literally cannot find anyone better...... -

So changing topics a little. With the new kick off, is it even possible to try an On-Side kick? -

2025-2026 Lineup 1B- Torkelson 2B. - Keith SS - Baez 3B - Jung LF - Clark CF - Meadows RF - Greene DH - ????? C- ???? I think thats the pipe dream. I'd love for Dingler to be the Catcher of the future but don't think that'll happen. I don't think Kerry Carpenter is the real deal. I don't think Meadows is the real deal either. I hope I'm wrong. But taht's 4 spots that need to be replaced in the lineup. I'd throw Baez in there too but with his contract, he's going NO WHERE. With only 5 spots I feel comfortable with and thats being gracious to the young guys (especially Clark), thats my reasoning for another need of a true ball player. A best case scenario is above and even that is dreaming for the most optimistic of us all..... Meanwhile, we have MLB pitchers in: Mize Skubal Maeda Flaherty Olson Faedo with Madden, Montero, Flores and Gipson-Long right behind them. We can and should be making a move now, but we need young guys. Next year we can play in Free Agency. Maybe we can snag Walker Beuhler in Free Agency. There's pieces here but we need more talent on the field every day..... -
2024 Detroit Tigers Spring Training Thread

The Tigers might have a (dare I say) surplus of SP. There's another wave behind that. I really think they should trade one of their starters not named Skubal for a legit position player. I get that we are still a year or two away from competitive baseball, but now would be the time to get a young buck in here. I still want Cowser from Baltiomore. I think he can be had too since they have Stowers waiting in the wings. -
Scruggs is out..... who replaces him? Hopefully a good recruiter..... I thought Scruggs was supposed to be an Ace recruiter as it was. Oi vey.

Football players though are mentally conditioned to be physical and abusive from a young age. It amazes me how many NFL players end up in hot water with the law..... Same for college football players. In College I had classes with some college football players and I was astonished they were even in college....... Now, I'm not saying it's all of them. I'm just saying football players in general that have careers. Heck watch Last Chance U. Three fourths of those players admitted to getting in trouble with the law.... crazy. -

So, I work for UCF now and my job is to talk with Alumni. I can't get a lot of them to get on the phone or answer emails. The amount of information you all can pull up like the Florida laws and screenshots and everything..... If any of you need a job for prospect research, please let me know. Thoughts and prayers go out to the lady and her family. This is why I lost faith in MIguel Cabrera and wasn't a fan of him. -
Going along with my Thread, Tigers trade some surplus pitching to land a stud rookie OF from Baltimore. Either Cowser or Stowers. Or they pivot to get Encarnacion Strand from Cincinnati. Casey Mize or Matt Manning is the centerpiece.

When is the next round of cuts?
-
Welp, lets hear your Wishlist. I don't think the Tigers are a playoff team just yet. Even in this weak division. My wish is that they'd ship out some pitching for some notable hitters. Something like Manning for Colton Cowser from Baltimore or something like Ty Madden for one of Cincinnati's infielders. Lastly, I hated the signing since the moment it happened. But I hope Baez has a career year. (See, now I'm reaaaaaaaally wishing.) That's my wish list for 2024. Yours?

If the Lions can trade out of the first round and get a 2nd and 3rd, they should do it. Now they need some high risk, high reward players and the only way you can do that is with a crap shoot. -

Lions can literally take BPA now with no worries. Very well done. -
How would you feel if they drafted a kicker in the 6th or 7th?
