  1. It's not an exciting trend, but there's not enough data to be determinative.
  2. His luck will stabilize over time.
  3. Torkelson suffered poor luck compared to Greene, and any discussion of production stats like WAR and OPS+ that don't acknowledge that are disingenuous. BABIP will stabilize over time. Both will have career BABIP a bit over .300, Greenes should be higher, but not that much.
  4. Whereas Torkelson improved his k-rate from 25% to 21%, and hard hit rate from 29% to 37% from the first half to the second. He also suffered a bit babip wise.
  5. I'm not sure what he's saying, but I'm all for letting kids fully develop before bringing them up. The bigs will shred you if you are not ready.
  6. It's a matter of evaluation. Hopefully you're not just churning, but upgrading.
  7. If they had brought him up and played him, would they have kept him on the 40 prior to the Rule 5? Hell no. If LA dfa’d him would you want to claim him? Hell no. Would he be any valuable part to the Tigers future fortunes? No. Is he a journeyman who may produce some value at certain times? Sure, but you can say that about a thousand other guys.
  8. Yes, but it’s all picking retro nits.
  9. He's a 31 yo journeyman who outpunched his weight for half a season. It happens. He had little value then and he has little value now.
  10. Trayce Thompson had a long track record, and was not considered to be anything more than a fringe player by anyone. The Dodgers acquired him basically as a temporary bandaid who ended up outplaying that role. Grossman was coming off a very solid year, and like most of the team went into an inexplicable funk. It was not unreasonable to think he could play his way out of it. I swear you guys obsess about the goofiest stuff.
  11. He won't make it to the second round if he's healthy. If he's not healthy, who knows!
  12. Make big money working from home! Free grants, never repay! Burn fat while you sleep!
  13. He may have called them. But a team is going to stick to their board. Dozens of people spend many months developing it, and they're not going off board because some agent calls, ffs.
  14. In Detroits defense, I don't believe Anderson can play off the ball full time as a linebacker, I don't believe he can set the edge to the extent that they demand of their defensive ends. That makes him a situational guy that you move around, an excellent one, but I dont think that provides enough value at 6. regarding Carter, it isnt just poor character the lions try to avoid. They want gym rats who love and are passionate about football, live and breathe it. That doesn't seem to be Carter.
  15. It would be like taking a basketball player who's a great athlete, but puts up bricks, and saying I'll teach him how to shoot. It's not that easy and seldom works out.
  16. Richardson is inaccurate, has no touch, has trouble processing and reading defenses. How often do those types become top pros? He's Nuke Laloosh.
  17. Not at all, he may well have been on the crapper.
  18. GM's don't make the picks anyway. They do, however, hire the guys who make the picks.
  19. I don't think the Lions would be interested in either of Anderson or Carter at 6, Anderson isn't a physical fit and Carter isnt a character one.
  20. I wouldn't have a problem with that. The NFL is a game of attrition, players get hurt all the time. They also get expensive in a capped league.
  21. They know, thats a scouts job.
  22. They would if he was any good. Just because a player busts, and they do at every position, is no reason not to do something. Good teams have competition, and quality back-ups at every position.
  23. You trade one of them for a gazillion draft picks.
  24. Hopefully, and hopefully he can drive more balls in the air, especially to the pull side, and hopefully he can improve his jumps. We shall see.
  25. Vierling's walk rate is 6%, nothing to brag about, and to be clearly better than Reyes, he's going to have to make some adjustments in his swing, plate discipline and reads and routes. We'll see.
