I don't recall this mich excitement over the farm system since the late 70's when the 84 nucleus was coming up.
Of course...trading Miller and Maybin for Miggy was pretty exciting too
I agree... Holland is not quick off his feet...lacks explosion. That little floater in the lane he's so fond of is going back down his throat against real rim defenders.
Not a WNBA fan by any stretch...but if we could download Caitlin Clark's brain into Ivey's that would be great. She gets the pg assingment completely...she drops more dimes than JD Rockeller
Theres a number of guys having nice offensive seasons in the DSL...SS Dickson and Osorio are both over .900 OPS. Dickson is 17 and Osorio is 19. Cristian Perez...17 year old CF is batting over 300 with an 880 ops.
The increased emphasis on international development may start paying off in a few years
Sasser looks good handling the ball...he'd better given his experience but his shot has been erratic. Could be in danger of losing his spot on th roster to Jenkins, who has a handle and looks like the better shooter
I think fan voting became the thing in about 1970...it was sponsored by Gillette and you could pick up ballots at any location that had a display or at the ball park. You could also buy an onion for a ha penny...them were the days
Skubal has value at the gate...pick up a deadline bat or two and hang onto everyone else and you could make enough noise in the standings that you will draw crowds ...esp when he's pitching. Trade him now and you are clearly throwing in the towel and signalling to your fans that you're done for the year. This will kill interest and attendance
