Looking back...Greene played a few games in rookie ball in 2019...moved to the NY Penn League and finished in A ball at Western Michigan. After the 2020 camp year, he played at Erie and Toledo. It's aggressive...but not unprecedented
I'm mostly angry with Javy because he does things like swinging at pitches that are so far out of the zone that he couldn't hit with a telephone pole when he's the potential tying run. It's galling to see a Major League baseball behave so...stupidly
The hardest point for me to wrap my head around is the idea that you have to take into account what a player is willing to sign for into consideration when evaluating an individual pick. No other professional sports draft is like that...you can argue need vs BPA...but in baseball that doesn't seem to be as big of a debate as "what will this guy cost us"
Anderson is having as bad or worse time in Chicago than Javy is having here...he's a neg WAR player and his career WAR is 10 wins lower than Javy.
They've both fallen off a cliff and appear to be very unhappy. make it happen, Scott!!
Wojo on 97.1 just proposed a Baez for Tim Anderson trade...we'd have to eat some money or tack on a prospect because Anderson is cheaper and on a shorter conteact..but, what the hell...why not?
The frustrating thing about Tork is the inconsistency. That 9th inning K yesterday is the perfect example...that was a good AB...he worked the count and got the pitcher to throw him middle/middle low 90's FB...a pitch he's supposed to kill...and he was late on it. That's frustrating.
Javy going up there as the $25 million man as the potential tying run and waving at pitches a HS player would take...that's not frustrating...it's infuriating.
Baez couldn't have hit those last two he swung at wit a phone pole...Victor Wembanyama couldn't have reached them. Javy needs to sit for a spell. Make him miserable enough to opt out
