  1. Erod shall be dealt lest he opts out
  2. I remember guys like Lolich throwing 20+ complete games a year...would Rodriguez's arm fall off if he threw one?
  3. Trading up to get Jamo was quite a gamble
  4. Matt Wheatland's arm was shot about 15 minutes after he was drafted.
  5. If Stroud is there at 6...I have zero issues with taking him Brees had to move around to create throwing lanes because he's basically a midget
  6. The Juan Gone trade still ranks as a real stinkeroonie given what we gave up for one year of ineffectual sulking
  7. This team is fiesty....not ready to call it moxie. Maybe in June
  8. Toledo HC Dan Watson was an Assistant when Lalonde coached in Toledo
  9. The Wings have broomed the entire Grand Rapids coaching staff
  10. Cossa had a rough night Fri..five goals on 20 shots. Pulled for Bednar who had 7 saves on 8 shots
  11. I would be more comfortable with a college arm rather than a HS arm in the first...unless there's evidence to suggest he's been abused like Kenny Baugh. Would prefer a bat though.
  12. Last night on twitter ....Campos drives the ball to right a couple of times, one of them for a HR. Be great if he develops into a RH power bat
  13. Nate Danielson and Matthew Wood are two RH forwards that would be our range...assuming we fall to 11th or whatever.
  14. We have a lot of young talent on hand and in the pipeline...we also have two 1st round picks this year AND next and we have three consecutive 2nd round picks this year in the upper third of the round. we have five of the first 43 picks this year. Stevie has a chance to either build powerhouse system with some higher risk picks...or make some trades to land a scoring wing and a RH 2nd pairing Dman
  15. Did not say age is irrelevant...fake news My point is his age is less relevant than his potential
  16. I think his prime feature is his arm. I don't see his age as being as large an issue...I think you have an opportunity to get a guy who's got top of the draft potential with a mid to late 1st round pick. I would be OK with that...unless we go DL at 6 and there's a high end CB still on the board
  17. Yes..he's 26...and far more mature than a "project". He has all the physical elements you look for and has had success against a high level of competition. He could easily play into his 30's...is his age really THAT relevant?
  18. Oh wait...that Islanders pick is conditional. Still...if it rolls to next year, it would be the Canucks pick...right? That would give us three 1st round picks...
  19. Stroud would be my 1st QB off the board. I could live with the Lions using #18 for Hooker...or using some of the later picks to get back into the 20's if he's there.
  20. We need the Pens and Caps to win and the Islanders to lose...along with us...to maximize those draft odds. Be hilarious if the Islanders finished 16th and jumped to 6th and we finished 8th and jumped to #1. That would be enough lotto luck to last a lifetime
  21. The five million it freed up is probably more useful than the 5th round pick.
  22. As Cossa grows into his frame...if he retains his athleticism and keeps his mechanics tight...he's going to be a very good NHL goalie
  23. Nevin optioned to Toledo
  24. But he drafted Tork, Greene and Jung with high first round picks. Granted...he also drafted Jobe, Manning Faedo and Mize...but pretty much all of his higher profile International signees were position players. Early on he had a bias towards pitching at the top...but three of his last four top draft picks were position players. The issue is the raw materials they've had were wasted
