So...you're saying Chris Ilitch is installing the new lights to create epileptic seizures in downtown Detroit in order to kill enough people to shrink the market until he can be subsidized? #EvilGenius
I view Harris the same way I viewed Yzerman...he's going to make minor changes here and there until he knows what he has. Focus on drafting "his" players and develop them. Start adding significant FA when you're ready to compete.
Getting our injured starting pitching back and bringing arms like Madden, Jobe and Flores along could accelerate the process.
I was thinking the Rams are going to same old Lions us since the Lions seem to be working on breaking that mold...they're going to win just enough to put us out of the Wil Anderson/Jalen Carter part of the 1st round
Bo was a God in Detroit/Ann Arbor...but...going to war with Ernie AND Tiger Stadium (you can't expect us to be chained to a rusty girder) pissed off a lot of the baseball cognoscenti in Detroit
I'm pretty old...I remember watching the Russia vs the NHL all stars in 1979. The network broadcasting the Saturday game in the US refused to show all of the ice because the ads that were on the boards were a "commercial intrusion". Which probably meant they weren't getting a cut. We've come pretty far from there...
If we can walk out of day one with Carter and a CB like Porter or Cam Smith...I'll be ecstatic. If the Rams magically fall into that 5-10 range and we land in the teens...then we can look at Ringo/ Myles Murphy and Bresee / Joey Porter.
Either way, we have a golden opportunity to get two more defensive starters with high end potential on day one. Teams may become to fear us
He's not perfect...but maybe McVay's spastic temperament was as much or more of the issue than Goff.
Looking forward to seeing Houston and Hutch take a few cracks at Cousins on Sunday
A quote from a veteran NHL player re the Wings from an ESPN article by Emily Kaplan.
"That team is going to be so legit so soon," the player said. "They have the talent, they also have the swag. Watch out for them."
In the late 70's everyone and their cousin had a copy of Fleetwood Mac's "Rumors". as well we should have...Stevie Nicks was FINE.
On the topic of Ms Nicks...Tom Petty's "Don't Come around Here No More" was co-written by Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics. He hooked up with Stevie Nicks and she told him...essentially... "don't come around here no more" the next morning. Not sure I would have shared that story. Maybe lie and say "she said I could come back for more anytime"...
God this hot stove league is boring
