  1. Cade misses out on a few things since he is on the ball so much. No corner threes. Corner 3's are where shooters make their living since it is the shortest shot by distance. Cade doesn't get a lot of corner attempts. Looking at his shot chart I would guess he has 3-4 more attempts above the break than in the corners. That will hurt someone's shooting percent. He also does not get many catch and shoot attempts. Players normally shoot a lower percentage off the dribble and that is where most of Cades attempts come from. He doesn't get the open looks other shooters do. I filtered his 3PTA's by closest defender and 19% of the time he had a wide open shot where the defender was 6+ feet away. That put him in the bottom 3rd of the team last year. But I will give him to the end of the season before judging. If he shoots >33% this year I am concerned.
  2. Bogdonovich is very tradeable based on skill. Contenders would kill to add a shooter like that. But his $19m contract makes it very hard to trade him. Most contenders don't have that much salary to send out in a trade.
  3. Mathurin looks legit. 26 points tonight in 28 minutes on 15 shots. I believe he had 19 on opening night.
  4. A competent GM can get you within distance of the playin game in 3 years. Maybe not make it but the last week or two of the season should be suspenseful. 4th year its playoffs or bust. Philly made it to the playoffs in year 5 of the rebuild and their rebuild was much larger than Detroit's. Of course missing on your first draft pick is an absolute killer and set them back quite a bit.
  5. Gene Hass says Mick is an ok driver but expensive because of the crashes. Gives Giovanazzi a practice session. Gio puts it into the wall 7 minutes into the session.
  6. Red Bull's F1 cost cap breach was in four main areas
  7. Sources: Pistons assistant GM Rob Murphy on leave amid investigation into alleged misconduct
  8. So Michigan is set to join the multi-state poker compact. It basically lets online poker players play against people in other states. Currently you can only play against people in Michigan. 4 states in it so far. Michigan, New Jersey, Delaware, and Nevada. More will follow with PA probably next. Firekeepers hosted the fall MSPT event this past weekend. 2.409 people entered which is absolutely amazing. 1st place paid $344,446.
  9. Ton of straight line speed but not a lot of lateral quickness.
  10. Luka and Lebron are fantastic passers just like Cade. Steph and Tatum, not so much. I think you negate one of Cade's best skills if you take him off the ball. It might be a bit different if he is handing it to Klay Thompson or Jaylen Brown I guess.
  11. I want to see more aggression from Cade. I thought he finished games well at the end of the year. But he was often too late back at the start of games.
  12. As we hopefully watch the first of many Laker losses. The Pelicans have the right to pick swap with LA this year. So no high pick for LA this year if they suck.
  13. The four studio guys on TNT just got new deals. Rumor is that Barkley got ten years for $100M.
  14. Seeing reports that Latifi will drive for Chip Ganassi in Indy Car next season.
  15. I think we both know what it is. We just seem to disagree on how often it is used. Utah ran drop coverage with Gobert. We sit here and laugh at them every year in the playoffs when it blows up in their faces. Hedging/doubling/blitzing just doesn't work in todays game if the other team is competent. Even if Casey wanted to run that style of defense they don't have the players for it. We all say how slow and unathletic the Pistons are. Well in that defense you are constantly rotating and that requires speed and athleticism. It would be career suicide for a coach to implement that type of defense with this roster. Anyway, his offense is bad enough to fire him. So like I said, I wont get upset if they do get rid of him.
  16. Someone posted the ratings from this weeks games. Alabama-Tennessee (CBS): 11.557M (highest of season so far) Penn State-Michigan (FOX): 6.453M Clemson-Florida State (ABC): 3.197M USC-Utah (FOX): 2.742M LSU-Florida (ESPN): 2.455M Wisconsin-Michigan State (FOX): 2.452M Iowa State-Texas (ABC): 2.351M Stanford-Notre Dame (NBC): 2.154M Oklahoma State-TCU (ABC): 2.136M Auburn-Ole Miss (ESPN): 2.064M
  17. But switching is the best scheme against modern offenses. Which is why all 30 teams do it. The Pistons simply don't have the talent to play good defense no matter which scheme they run.
  18. Teams average 110 points per game. The offense is going to score now and then.
  19. The deadline for guys to sign extensions that are coming off of rookie contracts is over. They will have to wait until the summer now. Sekou would have been our player up for an extension. But he is out of the league so no worries there. Hayes is eligible next season.
  20. Carlos Boozer has a son that is listed #1 in his class for 2025 depending on which publication you read. Cooper Flagg is #1 on some sites.
