Avoiding the play-in is going to be real nice for this team.
Their last regular season game is on a Sunday, and the actual 1–8 playoffs will start that following Saturday. So they will get 5 days off to rest/practice, possibly 6 if their first game is Sunday. So the players should be well rested.
It is also nice knowing their opponent right away. The 1 and 2 seeds have to wait and see who they get. The Pistons will know who they play once the final games end on Sunday. So they have 5 or 6 days to formulate a game plan and run some practices with what they want to do in game.
