Three kids involved in that. Thompson fighting through a screen to guard Wagner and make him miss. Cade pushing it up court to get Duren the lob. Pistons only down 7 with 4 minutes left.
-
Double tech for JB and he is tossed with about 6 minutes left.
-
Getting out of hand now.
-
Holland having a nice game. So is Thompson.
-
Harris out with some sort of head injury. Blaha said its never a good time for a standout player to go down. So I'm thinking someone else might be hurt too.

I try to like Sasser, but he does himself no favors.

You can make a good argument for Detroit landing anywhere from 4-10. FWIW BR ranks their chances of at least making the play-in at 99.7%.
-
Basketball Reference has the Pistons at 36% to finish in the 1-6 seed. That would mean they get a playoff series no matter what. 7-10 would require a play-in game or two.

I wonder why the Memphis hate.

I wouldn't trade Stew and Holland straight up for those two. No way am I tossing in picks as well.

Pretty crazy.

Costs little with no commitment so I don't mind it. Not crazy about taking time from Sasser though. I want to use these last 30 games + the playoffs to get a better read on him and decide if we need to move on or not.

Was curious how many 20+ point games other teams get out of guys who are not their stars. Looked at Cleveland, which is maybe a mistake considering how good they are. But, Allen, Mobley, and Garland combined for 48 games over 20 points. Allen is the worst of the 3 and he has 9 by himself, which is what last nights Pistons starters combined for. You want to help Cade, get him players that can punish other teams. Right now Beasley is the only other Piston any team has to worry about defending.

It should be said. 20 TO's or not, he was absolutely the best player on the court in those two games. It wasn't even close.

It's a lot of carelessness. You can usually find multiple times per game that looks like Cade is fixing games. He isn't obviously, I'm just saying the TO's look really comical at times. Do they need a secondary ball handler? Absolutely. But lets not pretend Cade didn't have the exact same issue when Ivey was still healthy, and he's a darn good secondary ball handler. They need more people that can hurt teams. Cade is our offensive cruise missile. Beasley is a nice bazooka. Everyone else is a cap gun that you played with as a 5 year old. With Ivey out Cade doesn't have a single player in the starting lineup that has a legit shot at a 50 point game. They might not have a legit shot at a guy who could get 40. Look at the this. THJ - 40 games played scored 20+ 4 times or 10% of his games. Zero 30, 40, 50 point games. Harris - 42 games played scored 20+ 5 times or 12% of his games. Zero 30, 40, 50 point games. Duren - 41 games played scored 20+ Zero times. Zero 30, 40, 50 point games. Thompson - 22 games played scored 20+ zero times. Zero 30, 40, 50 point games. He started last nights game with two guys that have yet to have a single game where they scored 20 points. Combined, the 4 guys he started with have scored >20 points in a game exactly 9 times. They had a 6% chance of having a starter other than Cade go for 20 points. Those 4 guys have almost no shot at hurting you even if most of your defensive attention is on Cade. FWIW, Beasley has played 44 games and gone for over 20 points 17 times. The problem with that is, in the 1423 minutes Cade has played, only 732 have been with Beasley.

Maybe this tanking stuff is getting out of hand.

They seem to get 3 or 4 of these a game. Duren is great at catching a lob.
