    Ivey for Huerter is pretty irrelevant. Shuffling the deck chairs basically, although the Pistons are not the Titatnic. But its just two bad players switching teams, same length of contract so that doesn't matter. Maybe a change of scenery will help Huerter. Sometimes plugging a guy into a different system can trigger things in him other systems won't. I predicted after the trade deadline that Ivey would start to pile up DNP-CD's. So what do I care if he was traded?

    Jenkins will play his last game Thursday as a two-way player. They cut Saric (if he isn't traded) and convert Jenkins to a regular contract.

    Emergency backup in case of injuries or foul trouble. They already picked up his option for next season, so he will be back unless traded. Free agent summer of 2027 and will probably be gone then.

    Why is it always such a struggle? Denver is down a starter tonight. Another starter is playing his first game back after a long injury layoff and is on minute restrictions. Their best player is playing his third game back after an injury and on a minutes restriction. But somehow it's a 2 point game with 2 minutes left.

    Yeah. More important, early Bird and not full Bird rights. That could get a bit sticky if another team makes him a decent offer.

    I imagine it will be a deal for the remainder of the season at the vet minimum. Then we will have the playoffs to gauge how well he does and have a somewhat better understanding where his salary should be come this summer.

    Yep, smart move since they offered him the vet minimum. He wants to enter free agency this summer and sign a larger contract.

    So I think after tonight, Jenkins should have one more game he can play before they have to convert him to a real NBA deal.

    Harden makes Cleveland better this season. Not sure what it does for their future though. Offer Mobley and a couple of firsts to Milwaukee for Giannis. Put it all in the middle and see what happens.

    Hardway Jr, Bruce Brown. It's the land of overrated players. Jokic has to demand a trade this summer. Get to a team that will put some serious players around you.

    I posted something yesterday that said Chicago can't even get a 1st for White. I don't think they are going to move Ayo.

    His contract is dirt cheap and for 3 more years. He's young enough to still kind of fit in their rebuild. There is no reason for them to trade him. So you would have to massively overpay, and your offer wouldn't even get a response. Unless he demands a trade or will be very expensive to acquire him.

    Nobody with back spasms? Sort of makes me think nobody else is being considered trade bait.

    OK, just read about the new(er) trade rules regarding salary. Teams under the 1st apron can get back $7.5 million more than they send out, which is how Detroit could send out Ivey at $10 million and get Huerter back at $17 million. That makes the trade a little more interesting. Because they could trade Huerter alone, and the same $7.5 million rule would apply. Meaning they could target someone making $24.5 million. They could also do that with Saric, but at his lower salary it changes to 200% of his salary, so they could target someone for about $10 million. Or they do nothing, who knows.

    Just looked at the Bulls cap sheet after the Vuc-Simons trade. They are $4 million under the 1st apron. So they had to send Saric out to stay under it. Why Detroit helped them do that without being compensated is still a mystery, though.
