I never really saw much of Javy before he became a Tiger, but my gawd man, just watching him pull his head, not even looking at the ball, and wildly swinging out of his shoes...I'm shocked he's made it this far in his career. Has he always been so good at swinging at painfully bad, unhittable pitches, whilst staring down the 3rd base line? La mag? More like la maga...

I look forward to the Tigers finishing 2022 with the least amount of HR's in the league, whilst also having the most solo HR's in the league.

Whether or not he try's to get a real pitcher asap, it will show if Al really believes this team "is ready" to compete for a playoff spot this season. Mize is baked, done-zo, capoot, I don't expect anything from him this season (if ever tbh), Manning is a question, along with now Erod and Pineda. Skuval and Faedo and Briske...that's this team's lineup for the near future...forfuksakes.

If only there was a good, young pitcher in his prime named Frankie Montas Al could really try to sign and have under team control and be part of this team's rotation for years to cime...oh well, rebuilds take time...at least 10-20 years they say...

Robot umps

Hitting the first two batters last night in a leverage situation, thus putting the team in a position to lose, means Soto is bad at his job as a closer; and in life, when you're bad at your job (as Soto has been so far this season), you should lose your job. I have no issues with giving him a couple more chances to see if he corrects, but the leash has to be short....same with Fulmer. AJ can lose alot of fan support if he goes full by the book "because he's muh closer!!" and dogmatically trots a flailing Soto out there all season. All that said, worrying about a closer who can seal the deal on a win, is a gift in itself with this current team....been awhile since we've even been worried about it, given this offense normally doesnt score runs or have a lead in the 9th, so this is nice.
