  1. And other news around MLB...other teams manage to get hits.
  2. Why would he resign? There are zero consequences for anything that the guy does. I am sure some coach will get the ax instead of the guy who constructed the roster. The lineup tonight, other than Barnhardt (mostly for his defense) and Baez (even though he is dreadful) would be about the only guys who would start for even 5 of the other teams in MLB.
  3. I mean, a cook can only do so much with rotten meat. There are a minimum of 4 or 5 starting players on this team that wouldn't even probably make the roster of 2/3s of the teams in MLB.
  4. You are right. I retract my statement.
  5. I know everyone likes to be hopeful, but did you really think the Tigers were going to be anything better than a 70 win team?
  6. This is karma for AJ Hinch.
  7. This is really one of the worst Tigers squads I remember watching. Have the Tigers ever trotted out a worst outfield 3some than this group?

He looks completely overmatched usually. I know he is only 22, but he plays at a position where he has to produce and produce right away. Not like the Tigers have any other options at the position though. Power hitting or good hitting first basemen are everywhere. You really have to hit well and hit with power to stand out. That's probably one of the reason 1st baseman are rarely ever drafted in the top 10.
  9. The Tigers would be monsters in the PCL or International League. If they did it for football, the Lions would dominate the MAC.
  10. This will be 5 out of 8 years the Tigers have ended in 5th place (I have no hope this year). 6 years in a row under .500 (still has a way to go when they were under .500 for 12 straight years right when Illitch bought the team. Avila's strategy of sucking for a decade probably isn't going to gain a lot of fans.
  11. Yup. He isn't hitting well. But do you really to make a point of that? Anyone who has watched him bat could tell you that.
  12. Obviously, the second option you proposed But why would MLB not keep the Orioles in the same division with BoSox and Yankees?

There is something about that. Nolan Ryan never had arm problems. He threw 90% fastballs. I think organizations are better off when their guys blow their arms out in the minors. That way they can keep control of the pitchers without having them go through basically 2 years before they are ready to pitch again. Keep them in the minors until they are 25 and let them walk as a free agent. Who knows? I certainly don't, and I'm certain Al Avila has no clue either. Maybe have a few guys that don't throw as hard but can change speeds well and have great control? Would Greg Maddux even get a shot nowadays?
  14. Are Andrew Chafin and Phil Coke the same person. They look alike and even have the same delivery.
