2024 Trade Deadline Rumors and Discussion
tiger2022 replied to LongLiveMaroth's topic in Detroit Tigers
Chill out. None of those guys were even remotely close to the #1 prospect in baseball. Your post doesn't even address what I said. Just go back to pretending like you know everything and keep making up silly trades that are have a zero percent chance of happening. I don't care if you respond because I am not going to read it anyway. -

2024 Trade Deadline Rumors and Discussion

So many delusional trade scenarios. Not trying to be a downer, so go ahead and continue to suggest the super one sided trades for the tigers. -
I think the minor leagues lack of players falls partly on Avila. He had a cupboard of all stars and traded them all away for absolutely nothing. And the ones that have become legit mlb players are on other teams. He was basically Matt Millen imcompetence.

Definitely smoking some high end stuff. Why would the Orioles make that trade? Keith and the other 3 guys wouldn't even remotely be close to making the Orioles roster. And they aren't trading the #1 prospect. -
He is the fearless leader of his players. They take right after him.

Teams going to the playoffs do not trade a big part of their offense. Why would they trade Westburg, who is a rookie and playing at an all star level? Just making up silly trades is well ..silly. might as well throw Henderson and Rutschman in the trade for Baez and Rogers too -
The: "Can we not do this anymore?" 2024 MLB Draft
tiger2022 replied to 1984Echoes's topic in Detroit Tigers
There's a reason why 1st basemen never go super high in the draft...except for when Avila picks. It's one of the easiest positions to find hitting talent. So unless the guy ends up top 3 in the league, it really is a bad positional selection. Shortstops or outfielders offer the best positional value. But the Tigers always seem to have the smartest guy in the room in charge. -
Honestly not being sarcastic at all. Do you think Hinch is that much of a micro manager? Would a player get a meeting in his office for swinging at the first pitch? I know Hinch comes across as a hypocritical, lying POS, but calling out players for going against his wishes on swinging at the first pitch seems even super douchebaggjsh for him. But I wouldn't put it past him. And if that is the case it would explain why half the team hits like he did when he was a player. And it could explain why those guys are not on the team anymore.

And other team's are going to trade MLB studs for Tiger prospects?

I wouldn't be surprised if they trade him in the offseason. -

That scenario isn't going to happen because a team trying to win a WS isn't going to trade away established mlb players because those players are probably playing a big role on the roster. That is why most of the trades are for prospects that really don't matter for the other team in their run for the WS. -
AJ is a master at star trek 3D chess while the other managers are just playing Chutes and Ladders.

2024 Trade Deadline Rumors and Discussion

If they trade Skubal, it will basically be throwing up the white flag and admitting it will be 5 years before the team is even remotely capable of making the playoffs. -
The Tigers got their one win. I think that constitutes as a success. They've won 1 series out of their last 5. Besides. I think you are going to see a lot of winning 1 game in the series for the rest of the year. When Maeda is on the mound, it's just like waving the white flag before the game begins. With Mize, the Tigers need to score at least 5 to have a shot. It's tough to win a series hen 40% of your staff has trouble keeping the other tram from scoring.

I am not sure about Greene. He might want to go to a team that throws money at him or a team that has a chance to win. Keith...who knows if he'll even be around because of not producing

The career of a mlb player is short and fleeting. Most of the offensive guys on the Tigers dont offer much to keep them. I know people hate Baez, but he at least plays great defense. I know he makes a lot of throwing errors but he also gets to about 100 balls a year more than most guys. -

I don't think saying all the terrible players on the roster won't be on the team in 2-1/2 years is some revelation. -

He'd have to improve a lot for his bat to even be average at first base. They'd be better off just letting Torkelson have a shot at it again next year. -
Flaherty isn't going to get as much back as a lot of people on here think. Some people make it sound like top 10 mlb prospects. He's a rental for a few months. Maybe a mid level prospect.

I still don't get Keith at 1st. Why make him learn yet another position. He also is one of the bottom hitting 2nd baseman so he should move to an even more premier hitting position? -
I question it. He is making a nice bit of coin by trotting out bargain basement sale players and then trading them ASAP. It's one type of business model but it sucks for fans.
-
The problem is they are wasting their pitching. Skubal will be a FA after 2026. Why would he want to stay with this organization? I doubt if they even offer him anything because they won't even be close money wise. By the deadline next year or even this off-season he will be gone.

A slow build...although the rebuild was finished. This must be an addition to the wonderful house they've built. Most young players that suck turn out to be career minor league players, insurance agents, or end up working in the Home Depot.

What? A team that can't hit isn't suited to a particular ballpark? Who would have thought. I think that was a blatant insult at the brain trust of the tigers.
