  1. I have no clue. I could see Hinch doing either of them.
  2. I wonder if Hinch knew about the death in Paddock's family and still trotted him out to the mound?
  3. How many runs will Mize give up before the 5th inning? It's almost like the other teams are cheating and banging on garbage cans to let their teammates know what pitch is coming or the starters just suck.
  4. Did Hinch know about the death in the family and still send him out to pitch?
  5. Chris Paddack seriously has no business pitching in organized baseball. His rookie year was by far his best.
  6. Verlander doesn't seem like the one day contract kind of guy. One day contracts are kind of silly anyway.
  7. Alec Bohm 2018 would have been the guy I would have selected. His size and power potential seemed better than a guy with average to below average velocity. Bohm is a solid guy but hasn't lived up to his potential either. Turang and Pena are on nice trajectories from that draft.
  8. The good news: Tigers up 8 in the loss column to KC with 24 games to go. A 12-12 record would mean KC would need to go 22-4 for the rest of the season to tie the Tigers.
  9. The bullpen was the only reason they nearly made it to the ALCS last season. They could start Skubal, throw the other starters in the bullpen and have 3 bullpen days. Paddack might be okay of you only use him for an inning, Flaherty for 2 or 3, and Morton can go multiple. Mize...never thought much of him. He's okay as a back end starter during the regular season, but I don't trust him in the playoffs. Picked #1 with a below average fastball who relied on a trick pitch to get college guys out.
  10. The other thing is there really isn't anything a GM can do about the roster at this point. There aren't all star pitcher sitting on the couch watching games and eating cheeses waiting for a phone call. Help from the minors? Probably not a whole lot.
  11. They'll probably add 2 more teamsters the league and make the playoffs a 32 team affair. I remember when hockey had 21 teams and 16 made the playoffs. Kind of a pointless regular season.
  12. Morton, Mize, Flaherty, Paddack. Which 3 of these are you refering to? Because I count 4 here .
  13. Espn was on the verge of folding since no one watches 90% of the garbage shows they put on there
  14. Can we say Morton was horrible today?
  15. Just .500 ball for the rest of the season and they are sitting pretty
  16. That's what happens when games are played
  17. Montero must have been sick and tired of everyone thinking he sucks.
  18. Montero in. No doubt the Royals will get the tying run up to bat here.
  19. Did you not finish reading my post? I said I trust Morton the most as the #2. I seek forgiveness. He has been mediocre.
  20. Magic number is 18.
  21. I would like the league to get rid of interleague play. The owners thought it would be some boon for the league, but no one really cares. Does anyone really get excited about the series with Pittsburgh or Cincinnati? I'd actually like more games with teams in the division. But neither of those will happen.
  22. Wacha is no pushover. He's a strong candidate for the Hall of Very Good. Should be a low scoring game. Hopefully, it isn't decided by the bullpen. But I expect Skubal to go 7 IP, with 3 hits, 0 walks, 0 ER, and 11 Ks.
  23. In the last 5 starts (including last night): Skubal 3.06 era, 1.022 whip Paddack 6.38 era, 1.375 whip Morton 4.64 era, 1.218 whip Mize 5.86 era, 1.265 whip Flaherty 6.43 era, 1.429 whip I trust Morton as the #2 guy the most. He's a bulldog. Paddack shouldn't even be in a mlb rotation. Mize has inferior stuff. Flaherty is hit or miss. I think it has to be Skubal, Morton, Flaherty and bullpen day in the playoffs.
  24. 27.1 IP, 4.64 ERA, 1.218 WHIP in his last 5 starts. That isn't going to cut it against the Yankees in the playoffs, but I'd still roll the dice with him over Paddack or Mize.
  25. With 26 games left and a 9.5 lead, it's looking like the Tigers will make the playoffs. They have a chance to set up their rotation. Obviously, Skubal but after that, it is looking rough. Morton, Flaherty, Mize, and Paddack have all been horrible in the last month. There is no way I would feel comfortable starting Paddack. His entire career, other than his rookie year, has been that guy with an era around 5. I feel Mize is going to get lit up with his below average stuff. Flaherty is a question mark, but when he is off, it's really bad. I think i might consider Morton as the 2nd starter.
