  2. Yeah this is pretty egregious.
  3. Keith with #2 and was a moonshot
  4. Another HR by our light hitting 2nd baseman
  5. Now I could be wrong but the vibe I keep seeing is the Tigers are going to go for a prep player. Now if Rainer or Griffin drop they will take him but if they don't it feels like they will grab Caminiti. The prep path tracks for Connor who ran San Diego's drafts prior to coming here and they were not shy about taking HS'ers. From his last SDP draft he drafted James Wood and Jackson Merrill so let's hope he can continue that streak with our drafts.
  6. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-pipeline-2024-mock-draft-july-4?partnerID=web_article-share Little over a week away now. Mock had the Tigers taking Griffin. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-pipeline-2024-mock-draft-july-4?partnerID=web_article-share
  7. Honestly it's unfortunate that Hurter looked like he pulled something in his last start. I know his ERA looks rough but his FIP is a whole run lower than his ERA and has a .360 BABIP running this year while striking out like 12 per 9 innings. He's almost 26 now so if he isn't hurt I would love to see what he has even if it is to bring him up to take Wentz spot and be the LR for when Maeda or Montero start.
  8. I mean you are right? You are watching the games giving them revenue through watching ads etc.
  9. Anyway back on the actual topic of this thread which shockingly isn't whether or not Keith should be moved to 1st. One trade chip that seems to have been on the back burner and honestly I hadn't thought about much is Carson Kelly. He has a wRC+ of 108 on the year and has been worth 1.2 WAR (according to FG). Looking at the teams who may want to upgrade at catcher you have Texas, San Diego, Arizona, Seattle, Minnesota, and NYM in the bottom half of the league regarding WAR from the catcher position. Not going to get a premium prospect for him but you may be able to pick up a Hao-Yu Lee type. Also let's not forget this was a Harris signing and honestly a good one.
  10. He just never looks comfortable out there.
  11. Just missed a HR last night certainly didn't miss that one. 426 ft
  12. This was the first Montero start I have been able to actually sit down and watch it and I can definitely see where the org sees the potential. The fastball had great movement and the offspeed stuff looked great. He just needs to get a bit more command and he could really come into his own. I will be interested to see if having true access to Fetter and the other coaches helps him out too. I think at the very least I can see a high leverage reliever if he can get the walks under control.
  13. Kelly is gone before the end of the month.
  14. Disagree, I think the org is hoping he makes an Olson like leap. Montero needs to work on control and it's not like he's 27 or anything.
  15. I mean Jung did win a GG in the minors at 2nd so he probably would be a good 2nd baseman defensively.
  16. Only for those who want to live in the past.
  17. I have been thinking about this, if after the top 10 or so it's a drop to the next closest group of talent, I would prefer us to go under slot at 11 with someone like Carson Benge, Theo Guillen or maybe Lomavita if they want to go the catcher route and try to float someone with a late 1st rd grade to 49 with our savings.
  18. Honestly, they should just bring up Bigbie. He is a 1B masquerading as an OF and you wouldn't have to bring up Tork. He's hitting .284/.389/413 since 5/1 in AAA and is already 25 years old and Rule 5 eligible this year.
  19. 2 Tigers make the BA hot-sheet this week. 6. Ty Madden, RHP, Tigers Team: Triple-A Toledo (International) Age: 24 Why He’s Here: 1-0, 0.00, 1 G, 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 0 BB, 8 SO. The Scoop: Madden’s gem this week is a palate cleanser after he allowed 14 hits and 13 runs in just 5.2 innings over two starts at St. Paul the week before. His adjustment to Triple-A has generally been a rocky one so far, but this week’s dominance of Louisville offers some reassurance. Madden relies heavily on his slider. When it’s working, he has success, but his fastball is too often squared up, which means he needs to find either a little more velocity, or develop another fastball, as Triple-A hitters aren’t having problems handling elevated fastballs at the top of the zone. (JC) 13. Max Anderson, 2B, Tigers Team: High-A West Michigan (Midwest) Age: 22 Why He’s Here: .375/.444/.750 (9-for-24) 7 R, 3 2B, 0 3B, 2 HR, 7 RBI, 3 BB, 2 SO, 1-for-0 SB. The Scoop: In the first game of the Whitecaps series with Lansing, Anderson yanked a home run to left field and ripped a double down the left field line as well. From there on, the Lugnuts stayed away from trying to bust Anderson in on the hands. So Anderson adjusted by driving the ball to center and right field the rest of the week. Anderson is actually more comfortable going to center and right field and racking up singles and doubles, but he does have enough ability to yank a ball to keep pitchers from getting complacent. Whether Anderson can stick at second is an open question, but there are many fewer concerns about his ability to hit. (JC)
  20. Can confirm, good to see Hamm getting some recognition. BA on Hamm Hamm is at this point the second-best pitching prospect in the Tigers' system, trailing only the best pitching prospect in baseball (Jackson Jobe). He's a fast riser who should at least be a quality reliever, but with a solid chance to carve out a role as a solid midrotation starter.
