  1. I prefer Griffin here and it seems Lomavita does not fit the control-the-zone narrative so I would be surprised with him as the pick. https://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/40233926/2024-mlb-mock-draft-kiley-mcdaniel-first-pick-projection-guardians 11. Detroit Tigers Caleb Lomavita, C, Cal Lomavita has a lot of late helium into this area and probably goes somewhere between Nos. 8-17. He has plus tools, but his weakness is his chase rate, something that teams have had some success improving in pro ball. Cam Caminiti is a real factor here, as is Trey Yesavage (who recently suffered a partially collapsed lung that teams are still learning about). I also can't rule out Griffin, as Detroit isn't scared to take a prep player early. Detroit figures to have a number of solid options and could go with any of the four major player categories.
  2. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-s-top-200-draft-prospects-for-2024?t=mlb-draft-coverage This caught my eye when reading through this. Clearly not considered a great draft class this year. How would you grade out this Draft class on a 20-to-80 scouting scale? Average: 44.6 (25 votes total) 40: 11 50: 7 45: 4 30: 1 55: 1 60: 1

  5. Bored at work? Wanna watch some guys who won't play in the bigs for a minimum of 4+ years? Well you are in luck. The FCL Phillies and FCL Tigers game streaming here with no sound and only a pitcher angle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qc6twbrRtcg
  6. Since we are close to 33% done with the season and the Tigers are pretty much .500 with a 0 run differential, I am looking to see some hot takes around performance or team records etc. Tork finishes leading the team with HR with 31 Flaherty is traded and people are generally impressed with the return Colt Keith finishes with a .280 average with 15 HR but does not win RoY Montero makes more MLB starts than Manning by the end of the season
  7. Clark and McGonigle make it onto the Hot Sheet this week

  9. For May he has a .307 average with .950+OPS but he is K'ing 35% of the time for that time frame which needs to be reeled in.
  10. Honestly, I am really just hoping he makes it so I can yell it at games. Also he is 2/2 with a HR and a SB today.
  11. Lynn must have heard you 😅 https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2024/05/26/around-detroit-tigers-farm-franyerber-montilla-starts-strong-in-fcl/73859709007/ That’s the Florida Complex League, and it’s where Franyerber (Frankie) Montilla, who a month ago turned 19, is becoming one of the Tigers’ hottest and most fascinating farmhands. Montilla is a shortstop, primarily, and a switch-batter who after a dozen FCL games Sunday was batting .317/.517/.463/.981, with six doubles. As impressive were his 15 walks against eight strikeouts. Also — 11 stolen bases. Also in that article ▶ Still no return date revealed for right-handed prize Jackson Jobe, who has missed the past four weeks with a strained hamstring. He is rehabbing at Lakeland and could return to Double-A Erie’s rotation later in June, at the earliest.
  12. Not of Lange's meltdown but here is Hinch's reaction and the Royals announcers talking about it.

  14. I can't find anything on Twitter but he did have 30+ pitches in that first inning and I know there is an org mandate around the amount of pitches in an inning can't remember if it's 30 or 40 though.
  15. Dominican Summer League
  16. I think it's all about expectations for this year. My personal expectations were 81-81 and maybe fighting for a wildcard spot in August/September.
  17. The amount of negativity here you would think we were the 03 Tigers not 1.5 games back from a wildcard spot 🙄.
  18. I know this is a joke but that was a show of speed to make that hit into a double. The throw was a rope and Clark still got there with time. I did notice it looks like the red and blue cleats though 😅.

  20. No because he basically had his pick of teams and there was no way he was coming to Detroit when he could play in California.
