Oh I agree, but it would be nice if they found a diamond in the rough here. He is obviously older (25 already) but just a guy to keep an eye on, especially as a lefty.

The pitch at the 1:20 mark from Lockhart is pretty nasty.
-
There was a lightning delay and he had played in the first makeup game so guessing they decided to rest him after the delay.

Wondering why we haven't seen 3rd rounder Paul Wilson? Guess he had a minor UCL injury. Also interesting is the Dodgers were interested in him in the 2nd round but at slot. The UCL sprain was, in Wilson’s words, “minor” and was judged by doctors to be just that, with no surgery required. Wilson has been on a steady rehab program and is now throwing from 90 feet. He says he is expected to pitch serious bullpens and throw to hitters in September. “Getting hurt knocked me a round down (deeper) than I think I would have gone,” Wilson said last week, explaining how the Tigers kept him from Oregon State — and from possible destiny with the Dodgers, or with another big-league team. “The Dodgers offered me slot for a mid-60s pick (approximately $1.2 million), but we were asking for a bit more, and they passed.

Eddys Leonard with a triple shy of the cycle so far.

Clark at 15, Keith at 26, Jobe at 59, and Jung at 72. So 4 in the top 100. Royals have 0, Twins have 3, Guardians have 4. They also updated the top 30 with McGonigle rounding out the top 5. Bigbie is 21st.

I agree but the biggest thing is those higher-profile guys is they are usually locked in 3-4 years before they sign so it will be a while until we see the fruits of that labor. That being said hopefully the new leadership over the international side of things will bring those players here.

If you would have told me at the start of the season Keider Montero and Sawyer Gipson-Long would make it to Toledo before Madden and Flores I would have called you crazy.

Tigers ML put him at 13 but take that with a grain of salt.

I like Ibanez but he is 30 and probably won't be here for the next real run so might as well see what the kids have. I am skeptical but Maton since getting recalled has a 110 wRC+.

Dombrowski on the Lorenzen trade via The Athletic So how long did it take, once the Phillies had actively decided to target Lorenzen? Dombrowski said they “engaged the Tigers about a week in advance of when we made the trade.” At that point, the Tigers’ president of brball operations, Scott Harris, gave the Phillies a list of prospects his team wanted back. The Phillies’ answer: A hard no. Dombrowski didn’t identify those players. But he did tell reporters last week that the Phillies turned down every club that asked about its most highly regarded young players — pitchers Andrew Painter, Mick Abel and Griff McGarry, and center fielders Johan Rojas (already in the big leagues) and Justin Crawford. It’s an excellent assumption that the Tigers asked for players on that list. But it wasn’t only Dombrowski and Harris who were working on this trade. One of Dombrowski’s special assistants, David Chadd, spent years working for the Tigers before joining the Phillies last fall. So he and a friend he’d worked with for years — the Tigers’ vice president for player personnel, Scott Bream — stayed in constant communication. “He and David Chadd … I would say they might have had 100 texts between them back and forth,” Dombrowski said. “And then Scott and I, I’d say, had a handful — a half-dozen — over the last three, four days as far as getting this done, and then really, it narrowed down the last day.” But even when they reached the final hours last Tuesday, it still took until “the middle of the afternoon” to come to an agreement, Dombrowski said, “because even early in the morning, the (asking prices) were different and he asked for a couple of people (the Phillies weren’t going to give up).” “And then they finally narrowed it down to say, OK, let push come to shove,” he said. “I knew they really liked Lee. We like Lee. We really didn’t want to trade him. But again, you have to give to get. And that’s when we finally were able to consummate the trade.”

I wonder if you will see fewer prospects coming to the FCL from the DSL because of that list decreasing.
