  1. Yes, the Reds played in Plant City. The Royals played at what was called Baseball City, which was about 15 miles or so east of Lakeland. I believe it was at the I-4 and Rt. 27 interchange. The baseball stadium there is no more. I think it's all a shopping and condo area now. I went to games at both locations years ago.
  2. How is everyone watching the Tigers this season? Are they still on Bally?
  3. I'm wondering if he had a broken hand all of last year when he hit .137? If not, maybe he could actually hit better with just one hand. It didn't work well for him with two healthy hands.
  4. Almost every Tiger fan would or at least should desire this..............................
  5. Good old Rodney........He could be both good and bad in the same game. Well, he could be both good and bad in the same inning. Heck, he could be both good and bad with the same batter....................
  6. Unless said team wins a couple of World Series'.
  7. It would've been interesting to see Justin Verlander in a closer's role. As a starter, I felt that he threw way too many pitches to be effective later in games. I personally think that he could've rivaled John Smoltz in success, but we'll never know.
  8. Bregman? Got the cart before the horse? Or have I missed this official signing news?
  9. With the Tigers reported to be "all in" on Bregman, There appears to be several players who will be on the outside......looking in. Good problem to have I suppose. Lots of competition during spring training. Plus, some actual trade material after some of the outsiders had some success at the end of last season. But of course, the Tigers being "all in" does not mean that Bregman or his agent is. I think that Bregman could be a guy like Ian Kinsler and give the Tigers a spark for three or four years. Not sure on years after that. But I think that he is younger than Kinsler was when he joined the Tigers.
  10. Would not be a bad move for the Tigers. They should sign him and let him hit. Lorenzen would probably hit better than 3 or 4 of the guys who batted for the Tigers last year.
  11. You are surprised that nobody wants a career .226 hitter with a most recent batting average of .137? The Tigers certainly have better options. Looks like other teams do as well.
  12. Well, let's hope they at least lose to the Tigers........................
  13. Could a Bregman effect have similar results to what Pudge meant for the Tigers?
  14. Anyone have interest in signing Scherzer or Verlander? It might sell a few more tickets. But I'm not sure it would equal more wins.
  15. Just my two cents worth..........I would like to see a contract extension worked out for Chris Fetter before we sign an overpaid free agent. If they have already extended his contract then ok.......on to an overpaid free agent. 🙂
  16. Most of the time these rumors only lead to disappointment. We as Tiger fans, are used to it. So.......no big deal this time around.
  17. Let's win this one boys and prove we are October Ready! Never underestimate a hungry tiger..................
  18. I'm sure the morning came a little too early for these Tigers..........but they'll be ready. Is this Heaven? No, it's Detroit. 🙂
  19. This has been a surprising and historical run that none of us who post here saw coming. If you say you did, you are lying. After all these years of mediocrity, this end of the season has been astonishing. Never underestimate hungry Tigers.................
  20. The weather in Atlanta could be an issue for the Royals' game tomorrow.
  21. Yes, please let him platoon with another team.
  22. What a fun ride this has been! Looking forward to more September baseball and hopefully October baseball for the Tigers!
  23. Great team win!
  24. I'll take the one-hitter and the win!
  25. Just an observation about the Tigers/Yankees game. The announcers last night were gushing about the MLB being all about the little league and kids. They claimed they are trying to get kids more interested and involved is baseball. Here's a hint for them. Make it much easier to watch your hometown team. The blackout rules on the MLB network work exactly the opposite for kids to easily watch a game on TV and thus become more interested. Oh and by the way, the heads of the MLB need to get off of their high horse and get Galarraga on that perfect game list.
