  1. Isn't that the same exact letter you got the last time?
  2. Have they come up with the equivalent of the Horst Wessel song?
  3. One time I had an order that was apparently lost, so I clicked on 'leave seller feedback' and left a comment about the (nonexistent) delivery process. It ended up getting a comment 'this is not feedback about the seller, it's for the delivery service' but all of a sudden my product was found, and delivered the next day. Keep in mind that this could be a coincidence, and that I can't say for sure if my 'feedback' lit a fire under anybody.
  4. Big Bird would most likely be more trustworthy than most of the current administration.
  5. I suppose this is more amusing than it is a pet peeve.... I was bored, and decided to do a search for 'walkable small towns in the US." The first option I saw? New York. As much as I love NY and how walkable it is, I'm gonna go ahead and say that it's not small.
  6. While I haven't seen this post in a while, I remember MAGAts used to post something that indicated they wanted a dynasty of Trumps-including Barron once he's old enough. I think they really do want a royal family-even though I still can't believe anybody would look at members of that family and say "yeah, that's royalty all right!"
  7. I thought his name was Krasnov?
  8. And all of the listed advances (medical, worker safety, sanitation) meant more babies/children grew up to be adults. So much for progress!
  9. Back when workers owed their souls to the company store...
  10. And yikes on the memory issue... one of the fun parts about being a middle aged woman is what we call menofog.
  11. It could be simply who was polled. A lot of people (me included) will not answer phones or take surveys online either. And to be fair, I think a lot of registered Democrats are not satisfied with the way the Ds in Washington are handling things right now-in fact some are furious. I don't know how many for the same reason I can't say this poll is accurate.
  12. He can't stand that there's a place people can go and get books, movies, and a lot of other things for free.
  13. True, and I remember that looking at a computer all day did a number on my eyes, and I had a lot of headaches. And that was 25 years ago, so I can't imagine what it would be like for me today. As much as I love working, I do want to be able to retire one day.
  14. I'm not exactly sure where this belongs, but I'm getting emails for a 14 day trial for Amazon Health. I do NOT trust Amazon for healthcare, and I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.
  15. Also it's often people who don't work physically demanding jobs who are saying that working at the age of 88 is a good thing. I always said that I didn't want to stop working until I was around 70, but now my body is beginning to tell me that I'll most likely have retire quite a bit earlier. And, based on what I hear from others in my field, I'm far from alone.
  16. I don't have a problem with people who want to work rather than retire, however, I suspect this is a way to 'prove' that people should once again work until death. I once had a coworker collapse on the job, who ended up dying the next day. He was 75. It's something that has stuck with me and a fate I wouldn't wish on anyone.
  17. Agree 100%
  18. So much for laid in America....
  19. It's that time of year when you can get cabbage for 17 cents a pound. There are fewer things I like better than boiled cabbage with smashed potatoes, butter, and black pepper.
  20. I'd be open to tweaking parts of the way the government is organized-I just haven't got a clue where to start.
  21. It's interesting because one of the things that I like about being in STEM, especially in a university setting, is how diverse the workforce is. I guess I'll have to admit that I will never understand people.
  22. In your defense.... it's pretty easy to overspend at Starbucks.
  23. Wait, so all people have to do is convince others to commit murder instead of doing it themselves, and their hands will be clean? Lovely.
  24. This probably shows my age: "Unless we each conform, unless we obey orders, unless we follow our leaders blindly, there is no possible way we can remain free." -Major Frank Burns
  25. It's truly amazing how different many of the cities I know look now thanks to clean air and water. I'd really rather not go back to seeing rivers catch fire.
