  1. That definitely sounds like a possibility.
  2. Well, having the soul sucked out of you while doing your job will have that effect on time. On the other hand... I'm not sure she ever had a conscience or a soul. I'm embarrassed to have a first name in common with her. At least my nickname is different, but still...
  3. Yes-and also they don't exist.
  4. I haven't even commented on all of the cases in this thread-and those represent a tiny minority of the people being deported. And in general.... yes. The current situation is more than a little concerning. Whether you think the US should allow as much immigration as it has, or if you think those currently in the country without documentation need to be deported-they're all human beings and should be treated as such. And yes, I do think that many of those who are here, especially those brought here as children who don't even remember their country of birth, have the right to apply for asylum and/or the right to work here. Some of them won't and should not be approved-but my guess is that these aren't the ones being found in raids. And of course your question leads me to ask you: is there any deportation that you think is unjust? How much power should ICE have-and is there ever going to be a line crossed that causes you to think it's too much?
  5. LOL. Since when does 8 people represent 'literally every person deported.'
  6. I was looking your answers in which you suggested that any of us who dared to criticize actions of ICE obviously want no laws and open borders, and using the same type of reasoning to suggest that you think that ICE is always justified in removing people no matter what and no matter how. Got it?
  7. And seems to have the answer "what does that have to do with being in the country illegally" no matter what the situation, including in cases when the person was in diapers when brought over.
  8. Since you're not 100% in favor of current ICE tactics, clearly we are all for open borders. Didn't you know that? This of course means Galaga is going to be ratting out neighbors, if not going out in ICE gear and actively participating in mass deportations. After all there's nothing in between.
  9. Yes, because obviously you either have to support ICE completely or want completely open borders and no immigration laws because there's nothing in between. I guess some of us are just guilty of the 'sin of empathy,' yes?
  10. Also.... did Hitler sell Dachau merchandise? It's more than a little disturbing to see all of the Alligator Alcatraz shirts, stickers, etc. for sale. And I'm surprised that Drumpf hasn't figured out how to profit from people taking selfies of themselves by Dachau 2.
  11. On the one hand, I'll be glad if they make different choices come Election Day. On the other hand... many of them are people who were and most likely still are happy to see the 'others' get hurt. In other words, I'd still be sleeping with one eye open around them.
  12. Same. And would these countries actually let us in? After all, the melting pot means we were kicked out of every respectable country in the world.
  13. Sadly, it's probably the threat of exposing Democrats as pedophiles too. And yes, that sucks. 😞
  14. The clear trend is only those who share your political views should be forgiven-especially if the victim is 'only' a female.
  15. I really miss the old Twitter-there are communities I was part of there that seem to not be on or are not active on Bluesky. That said, I'm often reminded that leaving X was the right decision for me. Yikes!
  16. This is one time I really wished I believed in karma.
  17. I only just noticed the line "Welcome to CECOT. Whoever enters here doesn't leave." The first prisoners at Auschwitz were told the only way out is through the chimney. Seems oddly similar.
  18. Yes, HRC was 100% correct about there being a basket of deplorables.
  19. You appear to have the same relationship with him that I do with whatever poor souls answer the feedback emails for the MBTA... I occasionally get a response but it's obviously a canned one that either doesn't answer my question or tells me that the train that never came actually did... such is life.
  20. I also think Zyklon B could make a comeback. I really hope I'm wrong. I doubt they'd think I'm able to work either.
  21. Something tells me that forced labor would be involved.
  22. Some of the responses to this are pure gold..... like eau de toilet...
  23. Shouldn't the 'best businessman' and POTUS know who the CEOs of the biggest companies are? I admit I had to google it, but then again I'm neither in business nor politics.
  24. For me, it was Trammell's second home run in game 4 of the '84 World Series. I ended up falling out of my chair, with the chair on top of me.
  25. Arsenic and Old Lace Best in Show Life With Father Big (honorable mentions: Clueless, Uncle Buck, The Parent Trap (both versions), Office Space, Clerks)
