Are you watching the same games I am? Baker Mayfield has looked pretty good against everyone not named the Lions this year. We kept Kyler Murray in check. The problem on defense is from penalties. Not scheme.

Week Three: Detroit Lions (1-1) @ Arizona Cardinals (1-1)

The Lions will get their running game going in this one. Then we will utilize Laporta for the first time once the LB's get sucked in. Then in the 4th quarter it's bully ball as we milk the clock for the win. -
Week Two: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0) @ Detroit Lions (1-0)

Reader is going to play. That will kick Levi to the outside. I would love to have Davenport due to impressive power but having Levi out there is going to be great. When Levi needs a breather Paschal will go in and provide edge support. We leaned on Davenport a lot in the first game. Ideally with Reader back there will be more of a rotation to reduce Davenports snaps, hopefully reducing injury. -
I'm betting both Sudfeld and Peko come back to the Lions after they move Cominsky to the IR.

I think it's possible to carry 2 QBs on the practice squad. I just don't think they will. As far WR. I think DPJ is good as gone now. I think you have to keep Isaiah Williams now. I think the Lions now try to add via trade or waiver wire.
-
You can have 2 QBs on the practice squad however you only have 16 spots. Probably not worth taking the extra spot unless you have a lingering injury issue with one of the QBs.
-
You are correct. The question is do the Lions trust Hooker as the #2? Sure Sudfeld would make the practice squad but if you elevate Sudfeld on gameday as the emergency backup you can only bring him in the game if Goff and Hooker got hurt. If you want to bring Sudfeld in as the primary backup he has to be on the active roster.

Going with a 4th round lineman project. I like your style!

Been a long time member of this site and the previous iteration. Wanted to get some feedback on a Lions podcast my partner and I started a couple months ago. It's called Talking Grit. It's on most if not all podcast platforms. This is not a hot-take podcast. Just a well informed Lions podcast with some good banter. If you happen to listen, please give us some feedback. Thanks and Go Lions. Training camp time is here!

It's competent camp competition.

I was at the uniform reveal. The black jerseys were very popular. Sold out very quickly at the store. I personally really like them. Love the way they look with the new helmet.

The Head Coach also fired that OC and hired the new OC. He will hire thr next OC as well. If that doesn't work he will make the necessary changes. -
Vikings have the Chargers next week as well.

Week Two: Seattle Seahawks (0-1) @ Detroit Lions (1-0)

My 8 year and 12 year old get so frustrated when people are loud. My 8 year old gave someone the evil eye at the last game. I've taught them well. -
Week One: Detroit Lions (0-0) @ Kansas City Chiefs (0-0)

Couldn't you say that about the Lions too though? If Jones doesn't fumble on the 10 yard line that could have changed the game as well. If the Chiefs don't false start every play or line up incorrectly the game would have been different. If CJGJ doesn't drop the pick. All I'm saying is the Lions had plenty of missed opportunities as well but they won. -

Gibbs just missed a TD by slipping. I cannot wait to see him just break away from defenders. I thought, he looked really good in his first game. He did not shy away from contact and he kept his legs going. Montgomery and Gibbs looked to be a formidable duo. -

Couldn't sleep either last night. Ended up rewatching the 1st quarter with NFL+. Their right tackle did not line up incorrectly or false start in the 1st quarter. Hutch really got screwed as the game went on. -
Here's my guess. I think Seahawks on Thanksgiving followed by Dallas the next Thursday. Maybe the Bears in week 3 on MNF.
-
I hope it doesn't start out like that. That's a pretty brutal start to the season. I can hear SOL now.

I think it's a total of 500k. Not 500k per game.

Johnson leaving was my #1 concern this off-season. Now onto resigning our guys and fixing up that secondary.

Week Eighteen: Detroit Lions (8-8) @ Green Bay Packers (8-8)

Based on the interview tonight and his previous interviews he isn't going anywhere. I look the Lions to resign most of their own guys. Reload in the draft and we will see what happens in free agency. Most pressing need is secondary. -

Jalen Ramsey would be awesome. Not gonna happen but he would fit well on this team. -

I think the Lions have earned a prime time game by going 7-2 in the last 9 games. However, this game got flexed because it will be playoff relevant regardless of how the other games finish. Regardless if the Lions make the playoffs or not I want to keep Rodgers out of the playoffs.
