  1. So far, Russia has destroyed between 60 and 70% of Ukraine’s critical infrastructure. It seems unlikely that the West will supply Kyiv. Ukraine is becoming less and less able to repair its destroyed infrastructure. Equipment and materials that would usually come from Russia are running out. Russian army is combatting Western precision weapons with sheer numbers, and it has enough resources to fall back on.As the war drags on, Ukraine is running out of soldiers. Depending on how you measure it, the current mobilization drive is at least the eighth wave, and men over 60 are being sent to the front. https://worldcrunch.com/focus/why-ukraine-will-lose-the-war
  2. Ukraine can not win a battle of attrition. From leaked intelligence reports American intelligence believes the Ukraine offensive will be limited. It is possible Ukraine could be in a worse negation position.
  3. Russia Claims Near Total Control of Bakhmut Wgner Group mercenary fighters have taken control of about 90 percent of the city of Bakhmut, according to a report from Russian media. The Wagner private military company controls about 90 percent of Artyomovsk and its advance is inevitable," Gagin told the outlet. Bakhmut was formally named Artyomovsk when Ukraine was still part of the Soviet Union. https://www.newsweek.com/russia-claims-near-total-control-bakhmut-putin-tours-occupied-land-1795185
  4. After Bakhmut: Draining Battle Leaves Ukraine Battered, Russia Rising There is nothing patriotic about an American flying a Ukrainian flag. Nor is there anything treasonous about an American questioning unlimited support for a foreign nation in a foreign war. To recognize that Ukraine will not defeat Russia without much greater American intervention is not pro-Russian, it is pro-reality. It took longer than we expected, but this defeat has made it even less likely that Ukraine can reestablish its 2014 borders without the direct intervention of NATO troops. Russia is now poised to take full advantage of the fall of Bakhmut once dry summer weather arrives. One need not be a prophet to see where this persistent escalation is leading or why it needs to stop. Last year the Ukrainian economy shrank by 30 percent, while Russian GDP fell by only 3 percent. The ruble is as strong against the dollar today as it was when the war began. Now, however, the peace terms Kiev can expect have become even less favorable than they were seven months ago. Ukraine has about as much chance of winning a war against Russia as Mexico would of winning a war with the United States. https://www.newsweek.com/after-bakhmut-draining-battle-leaves-ukraine-battered-russia-rising-opinion-1795453
  5. It's April. Look at McCain or Obama.
  6. NPR’s FRANK LANGFITT reported that both Ukraine and Russia have torn through their best-trained and most-experienced troops. After a year of fighting, both forces now rely heavily on conscripts — a development that favors Russia since Moscow has more people it can call up than Kyiv. the Washington Post’s ISABELLE KHURSHUDYAN, PAUL SONNE and KAREN DeYOUNG dug even deeper, reporting that pessimism and fear is sweeping through Ukrainian ranks. KUPOL, a Ukraine lieutenant colonel, told the Post that his battalion is “unrecognizable” from the group he started out with. We don’t have the people or weapons,” a senior Ukrainian official also told them. “And you know the ratio: When you’re on the offensive, you lose twice or three times as many people. We can’t afford to lose that many people.” https://www.politico.com/newsletters/national-security-daily/2023/03/14/the-bleak-reality-for-ukrainian-soldiers-00086944
  7. Uhhh.... he documents on Ukraine leaked are far less explosive in nature – they mostly confirm existing battlefield assessments that cast doubt, in the eyes of US intelligence officials, on any major breakthroughs in a widely expected Ukrainian spring offensive. https://theconversation.com/ukraine-war-pentagon-leaks-paint-gloomy-picture-of-long-war-that-cant-be-won-but-must-not-be-lost-203698 Crimea is an excellent investment opportunity right now.
  8. Seen rumors Seahawks are all in on Carter. I could see a team wanting to trade up to 6 for Will Anderson. He is a dynamic pass rusher. The price will have to be right to get the lions to move down if this is the case. Would love to move down and get one of the CB and pick up an extra pick.
  9. Javier Báez? At this point he would be stupid to opt out of his contract.

  11. NY Times: Biden Officials ‘Ignored’ Warnings of Surge in Migrant Children Being Labor Trafficked into U.S. Jobs Officials in President Joe Biden’s administration have “ignored or missed” warnings from whistleblowers detailing a surge in Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) being labor trafficked into United States jobs, the New York Times reported. Repeatedly, HHS officials and whistleblowers said they warned the Biden administration of such cases that appeared to be migrant child labor trafficking but received radio silence, and sometimes, employment retribution for doing so.

  13. Russia’s oil exports are back to pre-war levels Russia’s oil exports have bounced back to levels last seen before it invaded Ukraine, despite a barrage of Western sanctions. Moscow’s exports of crude oil and oil products rose in March to their highest level since April 2020, jumping by 600,000 barrels a day, the International Energy Agency (IEA) said in its monthly oil report Friday. The rise lifted Russia’s estimated revenue from oil exports to $12.7 billion last month. https://www.cnn.com/2023/04/14/energy/russia-oil-exports-iea-report/index.html
  14. 15. Some teens in the group began jumping up and down on cars, smashing windows and attacking people inside. One woman told Fox 32 her husband was attacked from the driver side of his vehicle and beaten after a group of teens jumped up and down on the couple's windshield. Police say a 6-year-old boy was shot in the arm near the Chicago Loop and a 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg. https://www.foxnews.com/us/teen-takeover-terrorizes-chicago-hundreds-children-destroy-property-attack-tourists
  16. That isn't what he said. No one is going to want to go to a city where the mayor doesn't want to, " demonize youth" who are rioting. Trying to make an argument youths rioted because they had no place to go is absurd. it is just another weekend in Chicago.
  17. They should be adding someone. They have a bounty of draft picks. I very well could see the Lions drafting a midround TE. No reason not to.
  18. Dont Blame the people who did this according to the mayor elect
  19. Ukraine grain markets getting cut off: A row is brewing over Poland and Hungary’s decision to ban grain imports from Ukraine to protect their own agricultural sectors. Reuters reports that a European Commission spokesperson said unilateral action on trade by European Union member states was “not acceptable”. Following Poland and Hungary’s decision, Bulgaria is considering a similar move. Local news agency BTA reported that the agriculture minister, Yavor Gechev, said the country was mulling over a ban on Ukrainian grain imports https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2023/apr/16/russia-ukraine-war-live-kyivs-forces-in-unprecedented-bloody-battles-in-bakhmut
  20. Risdon is pretty good. He thinks the Lions are out on Ringo because he is not a good fit for the defense.
  21. Russia on Saturday claimed advances on the northern and southern outskirts of Ukraine's embattled city of Bakhmut, the scene of the longest and bloodiest battle of Moscow's military campaign. According to the ministry, Ukrainian troops "while retreating, are deliberately destroying city infrastructure and residential buildings in order to slow the advance" of Moscow's forces. https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2023/04/15/russia-claims-gains-north-and-south-of-ukraines-bakhmut-a80848
  22. the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability issued a memorandum revealing new evidence resulting from the investigation into the Biden family’s influence peddling and business schemes. Subpoenaed financial records show that from 2015 to 2017, Biden family members – Hunter Biden, James Biden, Hallie Biden, and an unknown “Biden” – and their companies collectively received $1.3 million in payments from accounts related to Rob Walker, a Biden family associate. Notably, on March 1, 2017, less than two months after Vice President Joe Biden left public office, State Energy HK Limited, a Chinese company, wired $3 million to Rob Walker’s company. The next day, the company wired $1,065,000 to a company associated with James Gilliar, another Biden family associate. Afterwards, the Biden family received approximately $1,065,000 in payments over a three-month period in different bank accounts. From the bank records, it appears that the Biden family received approximately one-third of the money obtained from the China wire. https://oversight.house.gov/release/comer-reveals-biden-family-members-receiving-payments-from-chinese-energy-company/
